Reverie @ NYCC Is Bleeding Cool

Reports from the New York Comic Con event of the previous weekend are starting to spring up.

As we know the cast of the new ABC drama series Reverie attended the ‘con’, took part in a discussion panel after a screening of the pilot, and also conducted individual interviews with members of the press.

The Bleeding Cool website has an article by Adi Tantimedh who, after a explanation of Reverie‘s premise describes it thus:

This is one of the more ambitious shows this season. It’s not another cop show or another soldier show. It’s about tragedy, loss, and empathy. It’s about the desire to escape from the trauma and sadness of life into a dream world, and the need to connect with humanity and emotion.

Adi goes on to give quotes from each main actor (Sarah Shahi, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Jessica Lu, Dennis Haysbert), creator Mickey Fisher, and producer Tom Szentgyorgi. Of course Kathryn is there too. Here is what she said about Reverie and her character Monica Shaw from the Department Of Defense:

I thought this show is a beautiful execution of a psychological thriller within this emotional landscape in the world of virtual reality. It’s not like a typical Sci Fi show where the emotions come later. It’s a tangible take on the power of virtual reality. And nobody does it better than Amblin. My character lives in a grey area of Light and Dark in the way the government uses things for their own purposes.

Kathryn @ NYCC Interview Video

I could have added this to the much-updated previous post but felt it really deserved a new article.

Sean Ferguson, Senior Correspondent at the entertainment news website FlickDirect, got to interview the cast and crew of the upcoming NBC drama series Reverie at the recent New York Comic Con event.

The 15 minute long video (which can be found on YouTube HERE) includes interviews with all the major cast Sarah Shahi, Jessica Lu, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Dennis Haysbert, and Kathryn, as well as creator/writer Mickey Fisher and producer Tom Szentgyorgi.

The video starts with several minutes of Sendhil giving a very eloquent description of the show. Then Jessica joins him. It is during this segment we get our first glimpse of Kathryn. This really is the red carpet area we’ve already seen many photos from. Kathryn is being photographed just off camera. Sendhil and Jessica get Kathryn to join them for a minute, during which Dennis crashes the party, until they are all called away for more photos. Then it’s 90 seconds with Mickey and Tom, before we’re back to Kathryn and Jessica. It is a fun 3 and half minute long section. The video ends with a couple of minutes with Dennis and a nice 3 with our so far absent leading lady Sarah.

We are treated to some lovely smiles from Kathryn as she talks up the show and her cast mates, there’s a bit of finger action and a curse word. Bad Kathryn! 😯

Reverie Première Date?

It has been known for some time that the new VR-themed drama series Reverie will air on the NBC network once their winter Olympics 2018 coverage has ended. The South Korea-hosted games’ closing ceremony will happen on the 25th of February, a Sunday.

The poster released recently makes it clear the show’s run will start in March, but we want to get specific than that. March is one of the longer months! Maybe now we have some information.

It is not a report as such, and shouldn’t be taken as definitive, but the episode information on Reverie’s IMDb pages have been updated. Someone has submitted the information to IMDb and it has been accepted.

The first episode is listed as the 6th of March 2018 (a Tuesday). The next four episodes are then down as happening on the following weeks.

We know Reverie currently has a 10 episode order. Without any interruptions that would mean the season finale would be on May 8th.

Kathryn @ NYCC 2017 – Many Updates

As we hoped Kathryn is in New York this weekend for the special screening of the Reverie pilot at the New York Comic Con event.

And by the looks of it she is having some fun.

Reverie Posters! Kathryn!

Despite the announcements there is always that doubt that maybe Kathryn won’t be in the TV series Reverie. For what ever reason these things can change. Assuming Kathryn will star we can’t yet be sure the extent of her role within the show.

Ahead of the pilot screening this weekend some of those fears have been allayed by the release of a couple of posters. As you can see above, Kathryn is right there on the promotional material confirming a March 2018 première. In this composite image she’s been placed between Sendhil Ramamurthy and Dennis Haysbert. Sarah Shahi’s pose shows what the previously released, rather awkward looking artwork was based on.
