Happy Thanksgiving 2018

wallpaper_172_1980x2640_lollyHappy Thanksgiving from KM UK to Kathryn, her boys, and all our friends in America

It’s easy to think of Thanksgiving as happening on the last Thursday in November in the United States Of America.  However, this is one of those few times when there are five Thursdays in the month.  Thanksgiving is actually on the fourth such day.

I hope all our American friends are able to spend time with family when the only thing getting heated is the turkey.

We must of course also remember all the people that aren’t able, for many different reasons, to be with at home with loved ones.  Spare a thought for them.

This post has been prettied up with one of the many pieces of fan art donated to this site by our viewers.  In this case it is one of Lolly‘s wallpapers.  The KM UK Gallery. is chock-a-block with hundreds of such submissions.

Cold Case S01E06 – Love Conquers Al Promo Updates

s01e06_promo_003

See that guy in the middle in the photo below?  That’s Danny Pino.  I think you already knew that though.  It is not much of a stretch to assume you did.

It was this episode, number six in the first season of Cold Case, that we were introduced to Detective Scotty Valens.  He replaced the Chris Lassing character, as played by Justin Chambers (Grey’s Anatomy), who was Lilly’s cop partner in three of the first four episodes.

Speaking of partners we also got an initial brief glimpse into Lilly’s life outside work, though this peach doesn’t stray far from the tree, as we meet her beau Assistant District Attorney Kite (Josh Hopkins, Quantico).

Anyway, ‘Love Conquers Al’ involves the case of a high school athlete killed twenty two years earlier in 1981.   Summer Glau (a regular in Joss Whedon’s work such as Angel, Firefly, and Dollhouse) was that runner in the flashbacks.  Her then boyfriend, the titular Al, was jailed for the crime. The previous week’s episode was called ‘The Runner’, someone on the production must have on a get fit kick.

The other man in these new photos is the actor Vincent Ventresca (Fun Bobby in two episodes of Friends, and lots of other things, including Dollhouse).  His Bennett Cahill wasn’t so fun in this.  Now a successful doctor, Bennett’s past catches up with him.

For this latest update in our series we have 3 new promo images from this episode. Run them down (see what I did there?) in the KM UK Gallery.

Reverie Comes To An End

artwork_002
The silence made this virtually (a small joke there to lighten the mood!) inevitable news.

Reverie has been cancelled after just the one season, as reported by the Deadline site HERE.

Sadly the numbers didn’t stack up for the little sci-fi-ish drama series that could.  Host network, NBC has decided not to renew for a second run.

Here on KM UK we’d like to thank all those involved in the show for trying something a bit different and bringing Kathryn back to our small screens.

KM UK, however, is not yet done with the show.  We’ll be returning to it with new and improved images.

Cold Case Cast Catch-up – October 2018

tracie_thoms_001_430x180

We all know Cold Case as starring Kathryn Morris.  It’s why so many of you are on this site.  However, we can’t forget that Kathryn was part of an ensemble cast that the show couldn’t exist without.  This is the latest in KM UK’s series of monthly posts, known as CCCC-up, looking at the on-going post-Cold Case careers of Tracie, Danny, Jeremy, John, and Thom.  Let’s see what we’ve unearthed in the month of October.

Regular readers will know that Tracie Thoms (Kat Miller in CC) features a lot in this posts due her prodigious work rate.  It seems that barely a day goes by when she isn’t performing somewhere.  Another frequent occurrence in these round-ups is a big story breaking soon after going to press.  Two days after September’s CCCC-up news broke that Tracie would be starring in a new film called Straight Up.  James Sweeney writes and stars in this rom-com movie with Katie Findlay (The Carrie Diaries) about a gay man and his female soul-mate.  Filming is said to have already completed and taken place in LA.  Release date is as yet unknown.

Tracie’s guest-starring role in the Fox TV multi-emergency service-based drama series 9-1-1 has continued this past month with several re-appearances as Karen Wilson.

Back in July’s CCCC-up I predicted (with good reason) that the Hulu network drama called The First would be getting an outing here in the UK on our Channel 4.  In the past couple of weeks adverts have been broadcast for the series about the first manned mission to Mars.  Not sure if it is a clever bit of marketing or not, but the first episode of The First will be shown on the 1st (of November) on the first Channel 4 we have :-)  Sean Penn (Mystic River) and Brit Natascha McElhone (Californication) star.  Tracie is listed as being in four episodes of the 8 total.

I thought I’d missed this news but it looks like in the past couple of week it became known that the release date of the movie Ad Astra has slipped to May 2019.  The Brad Pitt (World War Z) sci-fi film was set to premiere in January but it has been pushed.  John Finn (John Stillman in CC) co-stars with Donald Sutherland (The Hunger Games), Tommy Lee Jones (The Fugitive), and Ruth Negga (Preacher).  It looks like the January date was not considered very good anyway and pre-Xmas release was expected to get it in a prime position ahead of the Oscars.  Commonsense has prevailed and late May is seen as a much more appropriate.

John’s new role in the in long-running The Walking Dead series has continued through October.

Way back in September 2016 I first reported on John Finn starring in a film called Finding Steve McQueen.  Filming took place around that time too.  A premiere happened at the Monte Carlo Film Festival in March of 2017.  There is still no signs of a US general release but IMDb lists tomorrow (1st November) as a release in Portugal of all places.

In the same vain, the FX TV series Mayans MC, which is a sort of prequel to Sons Of Anarchy reached episode 9 just last night (30th Oct).  Danny Pino (Scotty Valens in CC) is a regular guest-star.

Cold Case S01E05 – The Runner Promo Updates

promo_011

There’s a phrase/idiom in English: “having your collar felt”.  It means to be arrested and probably relates to the idea of a police officer grabbing a ne’er-do-well by the collar to hold them still whilst questioning them.

Although not strict ‘by the collar’ Lilly is very much acting out the phrase in the photo above.  She’s got her man.

Sorry for the spoilers but it has been 15 years since ‘The Runner’, episode 5 of Cold Case‘s first season, so you’ve had more than enough time to find out who did it.  It’s that guy!

Continuing our CC photo updates on the same date as the original airing plus 15 years, we have 3 new large promo images from ‘The Runner’.  They are now in the KM UK Gallery.
