Cold Case S01E05 – The Runner Promo Updates

promo_011

There’s a phrase/idiom in English: “having your collar felt”.  It means to be arrested and probably relates to the idea of a police officer grabbing a ne’er-do-well by the collar to hold them still whilst questioning them.

Although not strict ‘by the collar’ Lilly is very much acting out the phrase in the photo above.  She’s got her man.

Sorry for the spoilers but it has been 15 years since ‘The Runner’, episode 5 of Cold Case‘s first season, so you’ve had more than enough time to find out who did it.  It’s that guy!

Continuing our CC photo updates on the same date as the original airing plus 15 years, we have 3 new large promo images from ‘The Runner’.  They are now in the KM UK Gallery.

Cold Case S01E04 – Churchgoing People Promo Updates

promo_003 promo_006

I think that ‘Churchgoing People’ really made it clear that Cold Case was not your typical cop show.

It didn’t end with the squad high-fiving and proclaiming ‘we got him’.  Yes, justice was done.  A long standing wrong was righted.  But you weren’t spoon-fed the classic ‘happily ever after’ ending.  The team used their detective skills to find the facts, but Lilly had to use her empathy as well as her powers of observation to get to the heart the case.

Anyway, this is the first in a new series of KM UK Gallery updates of promotional photos and stills from Cold Case.  This time we’re going by the original air date and adding 15 years.  I didn’t have anything new for episodes 1 to 3 so we start here.  There are many more to come.

Above you will see an enlarged image and a new one to the Gallery.

Cold Case Cast Catch-up – September 2018

tracie_thoms_001_430x180

Phew!  Nearly missed it.  These 30 day months are tricky little beggars.  With the fall (autumn) TV season having now started in the US things are a little quiet on the news front.  We’ll do what we can to bring you the latest news of the other Cold Case cast members, but it looks like we’ll be largely relying on Tracie Thoms (Kat Miller in CC) to help fill this month’s report.

Tracie returned to the Fox emergency service-based series 9-1-1.  The second season opened with a two-parter which started last Sunday (23rd September) and continued in the show’s normal slot on the following night.  It was that latter half that featured Tracie and she is set to continue in episode three tomorrow.  A major change for the new run of the drama is the addition of Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer) to the cast.  It is Jennifer’s first major role since a season in Criminal Minds.  Her character is helping to fill a gap left by Connie Britton (Nashville) who only had a single year deal, which is unusual in this industry.  Apparently Connie could return as a guest in the future though.

I won’t go into detail as they’ve been covered before, but in September Tracie also saw the release of the Hulu series The First and the horror movie The Basement.

In a similar vein I’ll quickly mention that Danny Pino (Scotty Valens in CC) returned to the small screen in Mayans MC earlier in September.

A quick reminder that John Finn (John Stillman in CC) stars in the new season of The Walking Dead which starts next Sunday (7th October).

Although the focus of these posts is the main cast of CC that aren’t Kathryn, we do occasionally stretch our remit a little to include other people connected to the show.  As the creator, writer and executive producer Meredith Stiehm is very much one such person.  After holding similar positions for the US version of The Bridge and early seasons of Homeland, Meredith seems to have taken a step back from the coal face to work within the Writers Guild Of America.  The typewriter is going to be dusted off soon though as it has been announced that Meredith will be adapting Cristina Alger’s 2018 hit book The Banker’s Wife into a drama series as well as exec producing.  The project is being lead by actor Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) who will star and also produce.  Apparently the plot revolves around two women searching for answers in the world of finance after a plane crash raises serious questions.  Things have only recently been started on this so it will likely be a while before we hear more.

15 Years Old: Cold Case

CC_Titles_16On this date, the 28th of September, Cold Case premièred on CBS in the USA.  Of course, that particular 28th of that specific September was the one in 2003.

A whole 15 years ago.  If you’re not feeling old enough already then that fact will not help.  We must, however, mark the occasion so important in many people’s, including my own, our introduction to Kathryn Morris.  The show is instrumental in the existence of this very site.

We got to enjoy Kathryn and her colleagues across seven seasons of Cold Case but the powers that be didn’t know that in 2003.  As with any new show they put it out there hoping audiences will find it and connect with it sufficiently to return each week.  And they did, in their millions right to the end.

Sadly the show did come to a close in May 2010 after 156 episodes.

Happy Birthday Cold Case.

In the coming months I will be posting new and updated promotional and stills photographs from Cold Case episodes in time with their original airing dates.  Look out for the first set in a few weeks.

Wings Of Gold Comes Of Age

pwog_promo_006Pensacola: Wings Of Gold, the CBS network action series revolving around a team of elite soldiers, is 21 today.  Happy Birthday P:WOG!

The show débuted on the 15th of September 1997 and went on to have 3 seasons with a total of 66 episodes.  Kathryn was only the first of those annual runs as much of the cast was changed for season 2.

Last year’s celebratory post here on KM UK went down the route of the materials used to mark wedding anniversaries.  In the modern list 21 years is nickel or brass.  Nickel clearly has links to the US.  Throw the word ‘top’ in front of ‘brass’ and you’ve got a military hierarchy reference.  This stuff writes itself!

For more details on the series and Kathryn’s role in it, see that article from last year. and other P:WOG posts.

To mark this significant event I’ve added a load of new P:WOG content to the KM UK Gallery.  We’ve got promo stills and photos, various miscellaneous images (DVD covers, signed photo etc.), and a few small videos.  Check them all out in the Pensacola: Wings Of Gold section of the Gallery.
