Cold Case Cast Catch-up – April 2019

tracie_thoms_001_430x180The April showers have largely stayed away.  Speaking of showers lets take our regular look at the news of the other members of the Cold Case cast in the April 2019 CCCC-up.  Not a particularly busy month but some important updates.

She’s not been our headline act for a few months so we’ll give her top billing for April.  Tracie Thoms (Kat Miller in CC) recently finished filming in the Fox TV multi-emergency service drama series 9-1-1.  She will be in the season finale due to be broadcast on the 13th of May.  Two weeks ago Tracie added another notch to her extensive and varied guest starring roles post.  This latest outing is in and episode, ‘Book Club’, of NBCs brand new comedy show Abby’s, which is set in an illegal bar in the titular character’s backyard.  Natalie Morales (Parks And Recreation) and Neil Finn (Scrubs) lead the sitcom.

Back in 2016 Tracie starred in a series called Sidetracked, we covered it on KM UK several times back then.  The actress Adrienne Wilkinson (Xena: Warrior Princess) has for a number of years now being collecting interviews and posting them under the banner The Mouths Of Babes.  Just added is a compilation of chats with members of the cast of Sidetracked.  Watch it HERE.

Lastly, for Tracie, we have a full movie release available to everyone for free.  OK, it’s only 9 minutes long but it is the whole thing!  The short film Are We Good Parent? has been published on Vimeo by its maker, Bola Ogun.  Tracie and Sean Maguire (The Class) struggle to deal with their teenage daughter’s (Gabrielle Skye Goodman, Speechless) sexuality, but not in the way you might think.  You can view it HERE.

The Showtime network’s take on the late Roger Ailes will première on the 30th of June.  Ailes was the controversial driving force and CEO of Fox News.  He very much set the tone and output of the station.  The series, The Loudest Voice, charts his is rise and fall with playing Russell Crowe (Gladiator) the man himself.  Naomi Watts (Mulholland Drive), Seth McFarlane (The Orville), and Sienna Miller (American Sniper) also star.  John Finn (John Stillman in CC) will play Jack Welch, the CEO of General Electric who appears to be very much in the Ailes mould.  See a trailer for the show HERE.

Not sure when this first became apparent but it looks like John is climbing back into the director’s chair for a short film, having done so previously on a couple of episodes of Cold Case.  Saved Rounds is about an Iraqi war veteran and a final mission they feel compelled to complete.  Doc Farrow (Young Sheldon) is ‘Doc’, the vet in question.  In an ‘it’s a small world’ moment, Doc Farrow stars in a movie project based on Roger Ailes’ life.  John Lithgow, Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Alice Eve, Kate McKinnon, Connie Britton, Stephen Root, Allison Janney, Rob Delaney etc. etc. star in that film due for release at the end of the year.  Saved Rounds is being targeted for a release this year, presumably on the festival circuit.

Cold Case S01E20 – Greed Promo Update

s01e20_promo_001s01e20_promo_002

This is an interesting follow-up to the previous outing of our Cold Case season 1 promo photo updates.  We’ve been looking back to the same date Cold Case episodes aired 15 years ago.

It’s another pair of couples images, but this time it is Lilly and ADA Kite (Josh Hopkins) ending the episode in a bar with their colleagues.  The show started with them meeting in Kite’s office with a witness in the 1985 murder of a stockbroker involved in a Ponzi scheme (basically a pyramid scheme where new investor’s money profits those that were there before them).

A notable guest star in this episode was T.J. Thyne (Bones), who the next year went on to be on the main actors in the behemoth that was Bones, with Emily Deschanel (Bones) and David Boreanaz (Bones).  2004 was real purple patch for T.J. with him appearing in over a dozen different TV shows, many some of the biggest of their era.

The two photos we’re adding this week are not great quality but they are now in the KM UK the Gallery for you to peruse.

As things stand these are the last promo photos I will be bringing to you from Cold Case season 1.  Come back later in the year for the next season’s set.  There are lots more.

Kathryn @ All At Once Première – March 2018

all_at_once_premiere_003There’s something different about you?  Extra radiant smile?  No, looks just as radiant as always.

I’ve got it!  It’s the red/white shirt isn’t it?  Normally you wear a red one with white stripes, and not a white one with red stripes.  It’s so obvious when you think about it!  :-)

We recently saw that Kathryn had attended the première of the Mötley Crüe biopic, The Dirt.  That was a surprise as it nearly past us by and we hadn’t seen Kathryn since 2017.  She was holding out on us though.  Cheeky.  But, much like the Canadian Mounties, KM UK eventually gets its gal.

Kathryn attended première in 2018.  It was for a film called All At Once.  This time it seems more clear cut that Kathryn has no direct connection with the film.

All At Once is a drama about a New York artist who adopts the two children of close friends lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.  Jon Abrahams (House Of Wax) features as said artist.  Erika Christensen (Swimfan) and Annie Potts (Young Sheldon) are amongst the co-stars.  The gentleman in picture number 4 (below right) is the writer of All At Once, Michael Testone.

In characteristic KM UK fashion you can now find the four images we’ve found so far from this event Gallery.

Cold Case S01E19 – Late Returns Promo Update

s01e19_promo_001s01e19_promo_002

Despite appearances, the two rather awkward looking photos above are not from a couples counselling session for Lilly and Scotty.  The scene towards the end of this episode could have been the thing under discussion.  Away you go shippers!

The 4th of April 2004 was when ‘Late Returns’ first aired, which is why we are posting some new promo photos today.  It’s part of our ‘the same day plus 15 years’ series of Cold Case image updates.

‘Late Returns’, episode 19 of Cold Case season 1, revolved around the murder of a political campaign worker during the 1992 U.S. Presidential election.  Politics play a part in the rather unsatisfying conclusion to the story.  The powers that be step in protect the chief suspect.  The squad are less that happy.  Fortunately for us all the days of scandals such as the real one this story is based on are far in the past…

The full-sized version of the two images you see above are now in the KM UK the Gallery.  Where else would they be?

Paris Accord-ing To Trump – April Fool

in_paris_004

To say the least, a recent post here (well, HERE) on KM UK had us a little confused.  It involved a video of Kathryn having breakfast with someone at a street-side café in Paris.  No context, no date, no name, no pack drill.  There was scrambled eggs and coffee though!

Since then we’ve been contacted by a trusted source in France regarding the reason for Kathryn’s unexplained appearance in Paris.

A little background.  Two years ago, a Mr (let me check my notes…) Donald J Trump (President of America apparently) got the U.S. to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord.  This was a global agreement to cut CO2 emissions.  All the nations of the world had signed up to it, apart from a couple of cheeky hold-outs that wanted it to go further than it did.

However, it looks like some facts have finally manage to penetrate deeply enough to make Mr Trump reconsider his country’s position.  That and the personal financial loss of his Florida-based private club Mar-a-Lago being due to disappear underwater in the next 20 years.  Try as he might, Mr Trump could not get the local zoning commission to declare the property as a 10,000 sq mile (there’d be no wall to say where it ended!) luxury water park, marina and yacht club.

But how does a man of Mr Trump’s international standing and reputation go about reversing such a major decision whilst saving face?  We have been informed that a plan was put in place last year.  What he needed was a completely believable and credible envoy to act on his behalf.  Someone that could remain detached, whilst dropping a metaphorical pebble of change in the actual warming oceans.  Project Aloof Ripl (txtspk for ripple) was initiated and Kathryn agreed to take on the momentous role, travelling to France to make contact with the powers that be in Europe.

Information passed to KM UK suggests that the video posted on YouTube was a coded report back to Mr Trump.  The man eating breakfast with Kathryn is her Paris contact known as Little Chef.  The fact that it was sunny and Kathryn was wearing a t-shirt, despite being filmed in February in the depths of a French winter, is a message home that the scientific evidence on temperature rises has been proven to be correct.  The references to how much more good food you could get for €12 in Paris than for the equivalent amount in Los Angeles, is to indicate that the economic issues for the U.S. are not as bad as were feared and the French suggested solution is workable.  The croissant was just a croissant.

As far fetched as this all might sound, let us just hope that there is truth behind it.

Update:  Yes, this was my annual attempt at upping the silly on this site for April Fools Day.
