Moneyball UK DVD Release In March – Update

blu-ray_001Next Tuesday (10th Jan 2012) sees the release of Moneyball on DVD/Blu-ray in its North American homeland.  As with the movie’s cinematic release, here in the United Kingdom there will be a couple of months delay before we get the home entertainment version.

The DVD and Blu-ray versions are now up for pre-order on the Amazon UK website (other online movie retailers exist) ahead of the March 19th release.  There are even “special edition” versions listed that include a copy of the original book by Michael Lewis.  At time of writing the prices for the ones with the book are the same as those without.  Go figure.

No word yet on the DVD extras and whether they will include the restaurant scene starring Kathryn that we previewed here on KM UK just before Xmas.  Often European versions suffer compared to their American cousins because they have more language tracks to fit in.  Some extras get dropped to make space.  The Blu-ray is more likely to be the same due to the higher capacity and the fact that it is region free.

Moneyball will be making headlines, not necessarily on KM UK though, in the coming months as we get into awards season.  It has already received a nomination in the Producers Guild Awards, due to be announced on January 21st, and is likely to be up for Oscars.

The usual blurb:  Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) challenges the system and defies conventional wisdom when he is forced to rebuild his small-market team, on a limited budget.

Update:  DVDizzy has a review of the US DVD/Blu-ray release.  It mentions three deleted scenes on the DVD.  The first involves Philip Seymour Hoffman.  The third is a sort of different ending.  Their description of the second reduces it to “Billy on a date”.  That’d be the scene exclusively previewed here on KM UK before Xmas with Brad and Kathryn in a restaurant.  Way to reduce her role even further, from wife to “date”!  The Blu-ray extras don’t sound like they include any more scenes involving Kathryn.  Other reviews I’ve found echo all that.

ION To Début CC On Monday

ion_television_logo_150x96.pngJust a quick one to start the year off.

Monday (9th Jan 2011 2012) evening sees Cold Case début on the US television network ION.  That’s earlier than I expected.

They are starting from the beginning with a triple bill of Look Again, Gleen and Our Boy Is Back, with further episodes each Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after that.

ION’s website has more details.

Update:  Other days added.

Update 2:  Oops, not having a great start to the year.  2011 corrected to 2012.

Happy New Year!

Cold_Case_S07E15_lilly_218Happy New Year from KM UK

Best wishes for 2012 to Kathryn and all her fans

Hearing from as many of our visitors as possible would be a great way to start the new year.  Let us know you’ve dropped by with a comment below.

Moneyball Deleted Scene Preview

screenshot_001Xmas has come early this year :-)  So much for having a quiet few days 😕

I’ve managed to get hold of a short preview of a deleted scene from the forthcoming Moneyball DVD, due out in early January.  In the scene Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) and his wife Tara (Kathryn) share a meal in a restaurant.  Billy is talking about work and Tara is being supportive.  It’s sweet.  Looks like being Mrs Brad Pitt agrees with Kathryn 😛

At this stage I don’t know if there will be other scenes starring Kathryn on the DVD or Blu-ray.  Hopefully they will be more and they will be in HD.  We’ll have more news on that at a later date.  For now you’ll just have to manage with the small video and screencaps you can now find in the Gallery.

As posted about previously Moneyball is due for release on DVD and Blu-ray in America on the 10th of January.

KM UK Xmas Message 2011

promo_006Happy Xmas!

2011 has been a tumultuous year around the world.  We’ve seen tragedies such as the Japanese earthquake and subsequent tsunami.  People around the world have risen up against ruling regimes to assert their wish for freedom in things like the Arab Spring and the ‘Occupy’ movements.  In the UK we had our own unfortunate merger of the two with riots and looting in cities across the country.

We don’t deal with world events like that here but for Kathryn Morris fans this year has been… complicated.  Here is KM UK’s round-up of 2011.
