Kathryn @ Sundance Film Festival Lounges – Jan 2007

mr_men_and_little_miss_001Seven months ahead of its proper August release, the movie Resurrecting The Champ was premièred in January of 2007 at the Sundance Film Festival. In one swoop we’ve managed to pick up two elements from our recent thread of recurring themes: festivals and RTC :-)

Before and after that screening Kathryn spent time attending various promotional events. Day 2 of the festival (January the 19th, Kathryn’s first day out and about) saw her at the Village At The Lift Festival Lounges in Park City. Kathryn perused the goods being touted and perhaps picking up a few freebies. Exactly what she borrowed/stole/bought/was gifted is not known, some things have to stay, as the French might say “le mystère” 😉

Alora Ambiance, DermaNew, Earth Shoes, Habitual, Kératase, Le Mystère, Linea Pelle, L’Oreal, Mr Men & Little Miss Philips, Portolano, Napapijri, North Face, Microsoft and Zissou & Spike were all companies that had the pleasure of Kathryn’s company.

We now have 39 small images in the Gallery. They are split into sub-albums based on the “lounge” involved. There are so many good shots ripe for captioning that I could not resist including a bumper crop of thumbnails below :-)

We’ll be covering the other days of the 2007 Sundance festival in later posts.

Kathryn @ Harry Potter Japanese Première – June 2007

harry_potter_japan_78Cold Case might be big in Japan.  Kathryn might be big in Japan.  However, in June of 2007 Kathryn’s dresses certainly weren’t  :-)

The day before the Cold Case promo event in Tokyo (posted about last month), in which Kathryn wore a very slight number, she was strutting her stuff on the red carpet in something of similar surface area.  Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, which I believe was the 5th in the enormously successful series, received its world-wide première in Japan on June 28th 2007, almost a week before the UK event.  Am I the only person in the world to have never read an HP book?

harry_potter_japan_003Our look back through 2007 has had a multitude of recurring themes (Resurrecting The Champ, premières, Cold Case, festivals and motor sport amongst them).  Now we have to add short dresses.  With this event, the Cold Case promo, the Monte Carlo TV Festival reception, the Vegas GP Gala and the Resurrecting The Champ première it must have been one of the shortest years on record! :-)

Anyway, Kathryn looks great with her hair up in her very complicatedly colourful dress.  Very glam.

We have just 3 photos for our first posting on this event, but 2 of them you may not have seen before.  They are in the Gallery now.

Thanks to Megapixie for number 3 (the one on the right).

Moneyball Out On DVD Today In UK

blu-ray_001Moneyball finally makes the conversion from Dollars to Sterling  :-)

Short of a “directors cut” release, or Kathryn’s other scenes that hit the cutting room floor finding their way out into the open via some other means, this is likely to be our last post about Moneyball.

Today sees the UK home release of the movie, based on the book by Michael Lewis, that tells the story of the Oakland Athletics (the “Oakland As”) baseball team and their attempts to break the mould.  In a sport dominated by money and those with lots of it, how can a small team with very little (in comparison at least, they had still had millions after all) compete.  By thinking outside of the box.

Hitting American cinemas in September 2011, the UK got it’s first showings in November.  The DVD and Blu-ray versions were shelved (as in put on the shelves :-) ) in American stores in January this year.  As the US Blu-ray was region free it is very likely that the official UK version will be identical to it.  The descriptions of the extras certainly looks the same so UK shoppers should get to see one of Kathryn’s scenes with Brad amongst the deleted set.  The DVD may vary though, despite the film to PAL video conversion being done more simply than from film to NTSC.  In the past extras such as interviews have often been done on video, which complicates the conversion (NTSC to PAL) so they drop them.  In these days of every thing being digital that may no longer be the case.

Moneyball received many award nominations, mainly for Brad’s acting and Aaron Sorkin/Steve Zaillian screenplay, and won several but missed out on a coveted Oscar.  However, congratulations to all involved.  I doubt anyone expected a movie, especially a sports movie about a small team, that went through a lot before it even got made, would go on to become such a success.  They should make a movie about it…  Oh, hang on!  :-)

Thank you to Moneyball for giving us so much to talk about this past couple of years, it is just a shame that we ultimately had so little to show for it.

Today’s the day that the Revival House (Kathryn’s new production company) trademark reaches the end of its “opposition” period.

People have had the last 30 days to register any queries over trademark serial number 85414167 covering the use of the name Revival House in the area of “Entertainment, namely, production of television shows and motion pictures”.

Hopefully things have passed off without a problem and can now move forward to the next stage.  As noted previously, the mark has to be used within the next 6 months and the USPTO notified of that.

We will, of course, let you know as soon as we have more news on the subject.

Cold Case S04E04 – Baby Blues Full HD Screencaps

Cold_Case_S04E04_lilly_011Last year’s KM UK Summer of HD covering season 4 of Cold Case had a few gaps in it.  One of those gaps was episode 4, Baby Blues.

The PPD’s ME, Frannie, makes a rare appearance in this one, nearly her last in fact.  Frannie brings an old case to the squad regarding the death of a 6 month old baby.  As if this case bringing up some issues related to her own neglected childhood aren’t enough, Lilly has to contend with ‘motorcycle man’ Ray playing the old ‘I’m in hospital’ card.  What a rookie move, it’s the oldest trick in the book.  Worked though  😕

Lilly’s hair-do falls into the the just got out of… the rain style this episode 😉

197 Full HD (1080p) Lilly screencaps from the episode can now be found in the Gallery.
