There’s been a lot mentions in the press recently about a new film coming out today in the UK (next week in the US) called Rush.
An attractive blond lead backed up by a successful team. A cold, calculating opponent overcoming horrific injuries to try and take what he believes is rightfully his. A dramatic showdown in wet and darkening conditions. Flashbacks to a bygone era when men were men and women were as well. That can’t be right. When men were women and women were men… Hang on, I’ll get this right. When men were men and women were women. Not unlike today really. That phrase never made sense
Anyway, all the ingredients seem to be there for a great Cold Case movie.
I looked into it further. Turns out it is about two motor racing drivers from the 1970s, and not our favourite female detective
The 13th is definitely not lucky for us.
In all seriousness, the story of the 1976 Formula 1 World Championship battle between James Hunt and Niki Lauda is a fascinating one. The Ron Howard (Apollo 13) directed, Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon) scripted film starring Chris Hemsworth (Avengers Assemble) as James Hunt and Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds) as Niki Lauda has received wide critical acclaim. Worth a watch even if you aren’t a follower of the sport.
