Happy 4th Of July 2014

Who had the brilliant idea of having the 4th of July on a Friday this year? 😀

I would imagine that productivity has been at an all time low in the US with the week-long party held in the lead up to such a big day for the nation.

For those of you still sober and conscious, and to Kathryn and her family, Happy Fourth Of July.

Murder She Wrote – Sat/Sun ITV3

Picture the scene: you’ve sat through enough football and tennis the past couple of weeks to bore even the most ardent fan of either sport. England have proved incapable at football, again, and our tennis hero has been re-branded as Scottish. It’s late on Saturday and you need a change of pace from the repeat showing of action films that have filled the evening schedules. What can you do? Fear no longer. Help is at hand.

Murder, She Wrote is not normally late night TV viewing but the UK’s ITV3 channel has decided to try and goose its ratings at the midnight hour by putting on an episode. The episode in question is one of the very last from the 12th and final season, has the title of What You Don’t Know Can Kill You, and sees Kathryn in a guest starring role.

So, if you find yourself up as Saturday becomes Sunday then tune into ITV3 for a bit of gentle sleuthing with Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) and the folks of Cabots Cove, which is clearly one of the most dangerous places in America. England has its own equivalent in Midsomer from Midsomer Murders (one of the most watched shows in the world!) with a body count for the small county that must be past the century in the 100 episodes so far.

Or record it and watch it before the tennis on Sunday.

The Coin Walks Like Egyptian

egyptian_theatre_430x180 For those that can’t wait until the beginning of August to see the short film The Coin there’s good news.

screenshot_001 The film has been included in a collection of short films to be shown at the famous Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, California, in a couple of weeks. You may recognise the theatre as the one where the première of Cougars, Inc. was held at back in 2011.

Under the banner of ‘Local Shorts’, because all the directors are based in LA, a total of eight films will be shown, three of them are LA premières.

The screening will start at 7:30pm, Thursday, 17th July at the venue on Hollywood Boulevard. Tickets are $11.

Cold Case S03E03 – Bad Night HD Screencaps

Mimi Kennedy is one of those actresses you almost certainly recognise (from the image above if nowhere else), even if you don’t know her name. In a career that has so far spanned nearly 4 decades, and is still going strong, Mimi has been in just about everything but is probably best known for her role in the long-running sitcom Dharma & Greg. Mimi played Abby, the ageing hippy mother to Jenna Elfman’s Dharma. Apparently she was originally up for the other mother job in D&G, the uptight Kitty. Instead that went to the equally wonderful Susan Sullivan, who you will know as Martha in the TV show Castle.

Elena (Mimi) goes to the CC squad about the murder of her son Angus back in 1978. At the time it was thought to be a copycat killing, mirroring the newly released movie Halloween. The tensions within a group of friends caused crippling injuries suffered by Angus’s girlfriend in a car crash when he was driving surface. Who was responsible for the crash? Who killed Angus?

In a plot-line lay-by for Will Jeffries (Thom Barry) the case brings up the death of his wife.
