Roommate Wanted – Deposit Not Required

roommate_wanted_dvd_3d_001Roommate Wanted (née 2Br/1Ba), the drama starring Alex Vega and Spencer Grammer, is edging closer to release.

The latest big step, after a trailer was published last week, is the DVD being available for pre-order on Amazon’s US website.  The launch is set for the 19th of May of this year.

The disc is listed on this page at the bargain price of $13.99.

So far I’ve not seen any sign of it outside of the US of A so we’ll have to wait for further news on that.  Distribution is often covered by different companies across the world which complicates things.  The same stands for Video On Demand (VOD) services.

You may not realise this but Amazon customers from anywhere in the world can use their local account to login to any of the other national Amazon sites.  Which means that, shipping allowing, anyone outside the USA can order from the US Amazon site.

Remember to come back to KM UK nearer the time for some KM UK exclusive KM content.

Short. Sweet. Film Fest. Long. Detailed. Schedule.

short_sweet_film_fest_cleveland_poster_1634x2048It may be called the ‘Short. Sweet. Film Fest‘ but their schedule for the festival is anything but.

The ‘Short. Sweet. Film Fest’ is a single venue event running over 3 days with the most detailed plan of events I’ve seen of any of the dozens I’ve looked at the past few years.

The Coin, the short film by Fabien Martorell and starring Christopher Lloyd (Taxi) and Kathryn, will be screened during the festival in Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday the 11th of April.  The venue is the Alex Theater, The Metropolitan At The 9 complex.

What normally happens at these short film festivals is for the individual movies to be grouped together, often around a common theme, to make a longer single screening.  The exact timing of a particular item, or even the order, is thus rendered an unnecessary detail.

Not for the short ‘Short. Sweet. Film Fest.’ it isn’t.

Earlier this month the organisers released the official poster (see above right) and the schedule for the long weekend’s activities.  It’s done to the minute for the every showing.

So, The Coin slots (see what I did there? never mind) in at 4:30pm, just after a ‘presentation’ by a local brewery.

Tickets and more details are available via the official website HERE.

Roommate Wanted Trailer

roommate_wanted_title_002Roommate_Wanted_trailer_001If only I’d known about this a week ago I’d still have been a week late.

A trailer for the movie Roommate Wanted, previously known as 2 Br/1 Ba, has been released.  A copy can now be found in the Gallery.

Not surprisingly it focuses on our two leading ladies: Alexa Vega and Spencer Grammer.  Kathryn does not feature, but then neither do any of the rest of the cast really either.

For more details on the movie and the May DVD/VOD release date check out our previous post here.

Get Speechless This Weekend

speechless_film_festival_logo_180x180The promised ‘two weeks from this coming Friday’ is nearly here.

The Mankato, Minnesota, based Speechless Film Festival, starts this in a few days.

The short film The Coin. which sees Kathryn star alongside Back To The Future actor Christopher Lloyd as the stressed mother of a young boy, will be screened at the Cine Grand venue on Friday at 7pm.

Buy the VIP Festival Pass and you could attend a special second presentation of the film on Saturday lunchtime, 1pm.

As part of the “Young Drama” selection, Fabien Martorell’s short will be sharing the bill with four other projects, mostly from the USA as well.

The SFF official website HERE has all the details.

The Protocol Not On IMDb

imdb_logo_100x100The movie business gives with one hand and takes with the other.  When one door opens another closes.  Another such phrase about a good and bad thing happening.

Back in September 2014 the possible TV series The Protocol achieved the milestone of appearing on IMDb.  I realise that this is not necessarily proof that a project is on the way to release but it always stuck me as a significant event in its life.  The Protocol pilot/short was filmed during the Summer of 2013 by Johnny Messner’s production company and saw Kathryn take a small role.

A month later in an interview at the New York Comic Con the actress Xen Sia (or whatever her name is this week, it seems to change daily!) talked about the project.  There were suggestions it was being pursued by multiple networks for development and broadcast.

After the news on Tuesday about 2 Br/1 Ba (now called Roommate Wanted) getting a release things seem to have taken a turn for the negative now.

Three weeks ago The Protocol‘s IMDb page disappeared.  Initially it could have been a glitch but it has remained absent and also been removed from the various cast and crew’s pages.  As it will all be linked together within the database that makes up the Db in IMDb this isn’t a suprise.  It’s as though it never existed.  Maybe it never did… spooky!

Will the results of the Summer 2013 labours ever see the light of day?  Johnny?
