Bone Tomahawk To Kill Again At Abertoir

abertoir_horror_festival_618x206This must be some sort of record!

Has a film ever been the final item in so many film festivals across the globe?

S. Craig Zahler’s (writer/director) Bone Tomahawk will be back in the UK for the Abertoir Film Festival in Wales.  Yes, ‘abertoir’.  It’s a combination of Aberystwyth, the town the event is based in, and abattoir, another word for the horror-staple slaughterhouse.  Nicely done sirs.

Abertoir runs from the 10th to the 15th of November in the local Arts Centre.  The schedule has not yet been completed but the organisers have announced that Bone Tomahawk will be the closing film.  This means that ticket specifics are unavailable at this time.  As of writing there are said to be a few passes left for the full week though.

Check out the official website for more details.

Bone Tomahawk: Just One Step To Beyond… Fest

beyond_fest_1023x1462Beyond the première last week of Bone Tomahawk at Fantastic Fest there was screening at the Charlotte Film Festival.

Beyond that was yesterday’s Popcorn Frights Film Festival event for another showing.

“But what could possibly be beyond that?”  I hear you ask.  As luck would have it we have the answer.

Beyond that is Beyond.

The Beyond Fest started last Thursday (1st Oct) and continues until Monday next week (12th Oct).  That’s beyond 11 days long.  It’s 12 :-)  This is getting beyond a joke :-)

Writer/director S. Craig Zahler and star Matthew Fox are said to be attending tomorrow’s (6th Oct) screening of their movie Bone Tomahawk at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

It might be possible to buy tickets via the official website.

Bone Tomahawk At Popcorn Frights Tomorrow

popcorn_frights_film_fest_960x380We’ll have to start nicknaming Bone Tomahawk ‘the closer’ as it is closing film festivals all over the place, and it hasn’t even properly opened yet!  You the viewer get to be ‘the decider’ about how good it is.

The next screening in the sequence is the Popcorn Frights Film Festival.  Based on the logo above it is popcorn with an emphasis on the ‘c’.  Do they sell popcorn with extra ‘c’.  Surely it is all about the ‘p’?

Anyway.  Tomorrow night (4th Oct) Bone Tomahawk will be shown on the O Cinema Wynwood, Miami starting at 11pm.

Not surprisingly, especially after the buzz around the following the première at Fantastic Fest, the tickets are all sold out.  You can confirm this for yourself at the official website HERE.

Bone Tomahawk Trailer

trailer_001_screenshotHours after its first ever public screening at the Fantastic Fest event, finally a trailer has been released for Bone Tomahawk via the Entertainment Weekly website.  See the article in full here.

poster_002_1500x2215At 2m30s it is quite long for a trailer.  It gives you the basic set up of the plot with a few dramatic moments shown.

As you can see from the above screenshot (see the Gallery for a larger version) Kathryn makes a fleeting appearance.  That glimpse is probably in proportion with the duration of her role in the full 2 hour feature.

A small copy of the trailer has been added to the KM UK Gallery for your perusal.

Bone Tomahawk is due for general release in the USA, including via VOD services apparently, on October 23rd.

Bone Tomahawk At Charlotte Film Fest Tomorrow

charlotte_film_festival_1818x1232It sounds like last night’s premiere of Bone Tomahawk at the Fantastic Fest event went well.  There are lots of positive comments on Twitter about it.

Next.

Our late entry, straight in at number two, in the pre-release screenings of Bone Tomahawk is the Charlotte Film Festival.

Carolina Cinemas, Charlotte, North Carolina plays host to the Oct 3rd @ 8pm, event closing, showing of the horror western movie starring Kurt Russell (Stargate).  He’s the Sheriff who takes it upon himself to rescue some townsfolk kidnapped by ‘cannibalistic cave dwellers’.  Matthew Fox (Lost), Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring), and Richard Jenkins (Six Feet Under) join Sheriff Hunt on his quest.

Sean Young (No Way Out), Lili Simmons (Banshee), and David Arquette (Eight Legged Freaks) are amongst the supporting cast.  And, of course, the reason we’re here, Kathryn, has a small role as Lorna, aka Mrs Sheriff Franklin Hunt.

Check the official website for full details.
