Exclusive! Sendera Didn’t Make The Cut

Danny Pino and Tracie Thoms have got themselves bookings on new show pilots.  Sadly, for our other Cold Case favourite’s new show it is not looking so good.

In the past few weeks there has been a lot of reports about new programmes and the actors signed up to take part in them.  One show has been notable by its absence: Sendera.  Sendera is the “night time soap” being developed by Kathryn’s Hotplate Productions in collaboration with Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment.  The last we heard a script had been commissioned by ABC.

The lack of news lead me contact the fount of all knowledge on such matters: Deadline.com‘s Nellie Andreeva for an update.  According to her the lack of news is a bad sign.  Nellie didn’t go into detail but I surmise that the project is dead.

Thanks again to Nellie for her assistance.

Exclusive! Universal Channel In UK To Show CC S7 In 2011

Universal Channel kindly responded to a couple of questions of mine regarding their showing of Cold Case here in the UK.  This came about after it became known that they started showing season 1 last Monday (7 March 2011).

According to the Universal Channel representative they have all 7 seasons of Cold Case and will be showing seasons 1-3 this year and 4-6 next.  That seemed to suggest that S7 would be airing in 2013.  Not so.  Universal will be broadcasting season 7 this year.

The Universal Channel (the UK Hallmark channel rebranded) is available to Sky satellite and Virgin Media cable subscribers.

Thank you to the Universal Channel for their help.

Cold Case On Universal Channel In UK

Apologies for cutting this a little fine because I only just found out myself.

Nightly from today (7th March 2011), at 8pm, the Universal Channel here in the UK starts showing Cold Case from season 1.  How many seasons they will show is not clear.  Season 7 has yet to be aired by Sky, and may never be.

I’d never even heard of the Universal Channel until now.  Apparently it used to be the Hallmark Channel and changed its name towards the end of last year.  I don’t have access to the channel so it is not a change I was going to notice.  For those in the UK that have satellite or cable TV it is available on Sky channel 113 (the same in HD as well) and Virgin Media on 162.

The channel’s website has a page devoted to Cold Case.  They also have a Twitter account.

Family Values

Cold_Case_S07E17_lilly_079This is one of those things I thought I’d never get to see.  Ain’t life full of surprises?

Thanks to Cruzlite on YouTube we have a chance to see a short clip Kathryn in one of her earliest roles, as the oddly named Borgyork Grumm in the TV movie sitcom pilot Family Values from 1995.  I’m not sure about the “TV movie” part, because it looks more like a sitcom, but that’s how IMDb is listing it so I’ll go with that for now.  Perhaps it is because it never became a series.

The “men”, and I use the term loosely, in the clip describe Borgyork as “Miss Huck’s new socialworker”.  Kathryn looks very young and very cute.

The video as posted by Cruzlite can been seen on YouTube HERE.  I’ve added a version of it and a set of screencaps to the Gallery.

Thanks to Kareen_T for the heads-up.

Update: I’ve moved the gallery entries to the TV section because from what little I can find on this else where suggests that it is a TV show that didn’t go beyond the pilot and not a TV movie as IMDb says.

L.A. Firefighters

la_firefighters_S01E02_011L.A. Firefighters was a short-lived TV series from 1996.  The show followed the lives of, believe it or not, a company of firefighters in the Los Angeles Fire Department.  The presence of female fire officers in such a male dominated environment being a key issue they dealt with.

Only the first season’s six episodes ever aired.  The real L.A. Firefighters Union were none too pleased at the they way were portrayed and disassociated themselves from the show.  A reworking for the second season, including a name change to  Fire Co. 132, came to nought and it was never broadcast.  The first season has rarely, if ever, been repeated.

Kathryn was in three episodes from that first season playing a woman called Helen Regan.  Helen was the wife of one of the crew killed in the line of duty at the end of the pilot episode.  In the trio episodes Helen attends the funeral of her husband and spends time with another fireman, Jack, who has decided to look after his departed colleague’s widow and children.  She then announces she is leaving for Seattle to live near her brother.

A very small collection of small screencaps has been in the Gallery for some time but I have now added a few more and organised them by episode.  Sadly the additions are even smaller and of lower quality than the existing ones, but many thanks to our friends at The Elizabeth Mitchell Fan Club for kindly donating them.  Elizabeth, best known now for her role in Lost, starred as the wife of a fireman in L.A. Firefighters.
