The Protocol On IMDb

imdb_logo_100x100There has been some movement on a project we haven’t heard about in over a year.  It is not much, but it is a sign of progress… Possibly.

Remember The Protocol?  Johnny Messner (Kathryn’s partner) Tweeted about in July 2013 as being a movie project his own production company, “Johnny Be Goode”, was creating.  I posted about it at the time.  Further information suggested that The Protocol was to be a TV series, possibly meaning the film made in 2013 was some sort of pilot or footage to be used in presentations to studios as an example of what the show would be like.  We only ever saw evidence of a single set in use so we don’t know how much filming was actually done.  Little is known about the plot, beyond the fact it is set in the not-too-distant future where everyone is under the control of the government from birth.

The change is that about one week ago The Protocol appeared on IMDb.  It is listed as a TV series.  Since then four cast members have been added: Kathryn (as Grace), Johnny (as Jake Chase), Xen Sia (as Amanda Chase) and Max Ryan (as Michael Logan).  Key crew members, including writers and the director, have also appeared.

We must take into account that anyone can submit updates to IMDb.  Those updates are moderated prior to posting though, and creating a new entry such as for a TV show or film is only possible by a few people.  The information was most likely submitted by someone closely connected with the project.

It is a sign of progress in the project.  We just don’t know what at this stage.

I was told a little while ago that we will get to see the pilot episode with Kathryn in it but no time scales were mentioned.

As a result of the IMDb update I’ve moved the albums covering The Protocol that were in the Gallery from the film section to the TV section.  It’s new home is here.

We will have to keep a eye on this one.

Cold Case S03E20 – Death Penalty: Final Appeal HD Screencaps

Cold_Case_S03E20_lilly_001Lilly’s hot, and not just in the sense of the word we often use around here 😛  The a/c is broken in the squad room so, technically, every one is feeling the heat  :-)

This episode takes a slightly different approach to the normal unsolved case process.  This one’s already been solved.  A perp is doing time in the big house for this one.  But now the arresting officer has been found to be corrupt and cases he is involved in  are under question.  The jailed man is going to the even bigger house in the sky in three days unless someone takes his continuing claims of innocence seriously.  A call to Det Will Jeffries (Thom Barry) pricks his conscience.

Did the man currently on death-row, hired as an ex-con by a house moving company, kill the girl in her new home?  ‘Yes’, you say?  Do you not understand how these work by now?

As part of the KM UK Summer Of HD 2014 146 HD (720p) Lilly screencaps have been added to the Gallery.

Cold Case S03E17 – Superstar Full HD Screencaps

Cold_Case_S03E17_lilly_034I really should have found a way to engineer it so that this one got posted back in mid-July.  Why?  So that I could tie the whole tennis theme of Superstar (Cold Case season 3, episode 17) in with the major tennis tournament happening at the time: Wimbledon.  Such a wasted opportunity :-)

The episode opens with a university “Battle Of The Sexes” tennis match in 1973.  It’s a charity event mirroring the famous pair of matches held for real in that year under that title.  The fictional game is set just a few weeks after Bobby Riggs was beaten by Billie Jean King in the second match.  Previously Riggs had won over Margaret Court.  The Riggs/King game was televised nationally so is much better remembered.  It was not without controversy.  Riggs was much older that his female competitors was amongst the issues.

Of course, on Cold Case our tennis superstar winds up dead post-match.  Did her on-court rival do it?  Of course not, much to obvious.  Will the new evidence her sister brings to the squad lead to a game-set-and-match for the killer?

Superstar is the latest entry in KM UK’s Summer Of HD for 2014 and it brings 166 Full HD (1080p) Lilly screencaps to the Gallery.

Cold Case S03E07 – Start Up HD Screencaps

Cold_Case_S03E07_lilly_084Ah, the good old days.  When completely misplaced belief in Internet-based companies fuelled valuations far in excess of any common sense…  How much was Instagram?  And what’s up with the price of WhatsApp?

With a name like Start Up, the 7th episode of the third season of Cold Case, could be about little else but the death of someone connected with a new company.  Jealousies and the potential to make a lot of money quickly can only lead to bad things.

Amy Lind was found slumped at the wheel, well, oars, of a rowing boat on the river in 1999.  It was ascribed to heart failure at the time.  In the present (or what was the present in 2005) something much like a diary suggesting poison was involved is found on the hard drive of a laptop donated to a school.  Then it’s all hands on deck (see what I did there with the boating analogy? clever stuff).

Robin Weigert (Deadwood) makes a final guest appearance (her first of four was in Lover’s Lane, at the end of season one) as Det Anna Mayes.  Anna is investigating the death of Scotty’s girlfriend Elisa and brings him some news on a possible lead.

Start Up is the latest entry in the KM UK Summer Of HD for 2014 and there are now 153 HD (720p) Lilly screencaps newly added to the Gallery.

Cold Case S03E05 – Committed HD Screencaps

Cold_Case_S03E05_lilly_074A body turns up in the exam room of Frannie (Philly PD’s answer to Dr Maura Isles, played by Susan Chuang).  When the dead woman’s son comes to claim the body he denies it is his mother.  Now we have case of identity theft, a mystery dead body, and a cold case from 1954.

Back then the woman, Bettie Petrowski, was suffering from bipolar disorder and was committed (see what they did there?) to a mental institution as she was considered a danger to herself and others, including her young son.

In the end we get a tragic tale and a damning indictment of the way mental health problems were treated not that long ago.  It would be nice to say we’ve moved on since then…

This episode of Cold Case had quite a guest cast list with Natasha Gregson Wagner (Two Girls and a Guy) and Diane Ladd (Chinatown) both starring.  Also, not only did Susan Chuang make one of her occasional appearances but so did Kevin McCorkle as Det Gil Sherman.  In fact we saw both Gil and Josie Sutton (Sarah Brown) for the final time in this one.

KM UK’s Summer Of HD 2014 commits (see what I did there?) to giving you 120 HD (720p) Lilly screencaps now to be found in the Gallery.
