After the recent disappointment of a promo video that did not accurately depict the next episode of the USA Network show Colony, things are looking much more on track this week.
Although the latest promo videos (now in the KM UK Gallery) do not show Kathryn there is now new evidence that she will be in the upcoming episode, due for broadcast in the US this week. A couple of dozen promo photos were made public last week but it only with an additional one out today that we get our first proper look at Charlotte.
A press release (below) has been… err… released that lists Kathryn along with the actor (Adrian Pasdar) who plays her character’s husband as one of the guest stars. It looks like, as I suspected, Maddie’s storyline will involve Kathryn’s Charlotte.
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 4
COLONY – “Blind Spot” – 10pm/9c
Will (Josh Holloway) continues to earn the respect of his new colleagues, but when his home comes under an attack, everyone is a suspect- even those closest to him. Meanwhile, Maddie (Amanda Righetti) finds a way in to the upper echelon.
The series also stars Sarah Wayne Callies, Peter Jacobson, Tory Kittles and Isabella Crovetti-Cramp.
Guest Stars: Adrian Pasdar, Kathryn Morris, Carl Weathers, Kathy Baker, Kathleen Rose Perkins, Erin Way, Paul Guilfoyle, Felix Solis
In some recent Twitter posts Johnny Messner (Kathryn’s partner) mentioned Kathryn as being in three episodes (which matches the info I have) and playing an art dealer.
The image you see above and copies of the promo videos are now in the Gallery.
Anything you’d like to tell us?
Sadly, it turns out that the promo video for the second episode of Colony, which was released last week after the first episode got its first network airing (it had been released online a few weeks previously), was somewhat misleading.
Around half of the footage in the minute long montage was not even in the episode in question. Clearly they were clips from future shows. Not happy!
This meant that Kathryn was not in last nights Brave New World episode. Very not happy!
Could it have been propaganda released by a powerful, yet faceless, entity to control the masses? Are they using trusted sources to legitimise their actions? Hey, wait a minute…
We did get to see Kathleen Rose Perkins (who was great in the US/UK comedy Episodes) and Kathy Baker (Picket Fences). That Kathy is really a Katherine. So they did try and make up for the deficiency. Sort of.
Information I’ve been able to find suggests that we might first see Kathryn’s Charlotte (not a euphemism) in episode 4, which is titled Blind Spot. Salt at the ready!
However, with what we saw in the clip and some of the happenings in episode two it does give me a few ideas as to some future plot points around Kathryn’s character. I’ll let you speculate on what they could be.
I really did not expect this to happen so soon! I was sure we’d be hanging on until at least the 5th episode!
The “next week on…” promo video shown after last Thursday’s première of the new USA Network sci-fi-ish drama series Colony included a couple of brief glimpses of Kathryn! If this is correct we will see her in episode two.
And when I say ‘brief’ a) I mean really, really brief; and b) instead of ‘brief glimpses’ maybe I should have said ‘glimpse briefs’ 😉
With the second peek being what you see above (grrr!) and the Amanda Righetti (The Mentalist) scene shown just before it we can safely say Colony is turning up the sexy! For those of us that not lusting after Josh Holloway (Lost) anyway
Over the video we hear Kathryn, as Charlotte, say “You work for me. Do you understand?” We can’t see who she is saying this to.
If you didn’t tune in last time then maybe you should reconsider for next week.
There is a copy of the episode 2 promo video and some 720p screencaps of Kathryn from it in the Gallery now.
As it’s an American show I’ve gone with the US spelling of colonisation above, well it is an American city being colonized
The new USA Network sci-fi-ish drama series Colony is due to broadcast the first episode on Thursday of next week (the 14th of Jan).
For the past few months the station has been releasing posters, teaser trailers, interviews with the key cast and crew, behind-the-scenes videos, Tweets galore and even the whole first episode as a preview. Much has been said about the nature of the colonisation of LA. Is it aliens? Are other cities in the US or elsewhere across the world similarly walled in? A likely ‘yes’ on both counts. No doubt in the coming few days there’ll be a lot more.
One thing that we’ve not heard anything further about since the news broke last August of Kathryn’s recurring role as Charlotte is anything further about Kathryn’s recurring role. Adrian Pasdar (Heroes), who is said to play a politician and is Charlotte’s husband, has gone equally unmentioned. Their parts are not listed on the show’s Wikipedia page and have not come up in any of the publicity so far. There have been no spoiler leaks on any of the major gossip sites either.
This lack of discussion could be a worrying sign of a significant change in the story lines or the production team have done a good job in keeping things locked down. Perhaps the press have largely agreed to go along with the secrecy for the sake of the drama. Who knows?
What we do know is that Colony starring Josh Holloway (Lost), Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead), Peter Jacobson (House), Amanda Righetti (The Mentalist) and Paul Guilfoyle (CSI) is just a week away. There are ten episodes in the series. Will you be watching?
The new sci-fi drama series Colony is set to début on the USA Network in America next January.
It was thought the 10 episode first season would start in October of this year.
The show, lead by Josh Holloway (Lost) and Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead), with a recurring role by our Kathryn, will start on the 14th of January at 10pm.
