Kathryn Is The First Princess In 2007

first_princess_party_0012007 was a big year for Kathryn.

Cold Case was in full swing.  The second half of season 4 and the first part of season 5 aired for the first time in the USA.

The movie Resurrecting The Champ, in which Kathryn had a small role as the estranged wife of the main character played by Josh Hartnett, was premièred at the Sundance Film Festival and publicly released later in the year.

Despite not being available for almost two more years the film Assassination Of A High School President (now seemingly known as just The Assassination) was also filmed.  Kathryn had an even smaller, and rather odd, part as the slightly spaced-out school nurse.

All of which added up to making 2007 the busiest year for Kathryn making public appearances.

It was also a big year for Kim Kardashian (didn’t think I’d ever be writing that name on this site!).  For very different reasons though.  A film Kim made 4 years previously was released and she became a world wide sensation.  By the end of 2007 she had her TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians on the E! network and was milking the fame thrust upon her for all it was worth.  Luckily for society in general she has chosen to shrink back from the limelight and the hasn’t been heard of much for years.  It can be difficult for the shy and retiring types to cope with all the attention.

In April 0f 2007 Kim was named as host of TAO’s First Princess Party.  TOA is a restaurant and nightclub in Las Vegas.  Kathryn was there.  Not sure why.  As we can see above Kathryn was photographed with rapper Cowboy Troy.

It’s taken a long time but I’ve finally added the two small and very similar photos of Kathryn from the event to the KM UK Gallery.

The Coin & Unbelief Double Date In Philly

speechless_film_festival_logo_180x180The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival has published its schedule of screenings for the 5 day event.

“What do you mean ‘5 day event’?”  I here you say.  “The 17th to the 25th (inclusive) is 9 days.”  And you sir would be correct.  The schedule, however, says otherwise.

The PIFF calendar of screenings starts on the Friday (17th) with a series of opening night screenings.  Included is a world première of Moon Hoax Now, which seeks to debunk all those ridiculous conspiracy theories that the conspiracy theories the moon landings were faked.  Director Jet Wintzer will be there.  Sounds like a hoot.

After that the event takes the weekend off and returns on Monday (20th) with another set of screenings and another world premiere.  This time it is Sean Roberts’ drama Traffickers about a family of Philly drug dealers and their battle against a rival.  Short film The Grey by Anthony Berenator Jr. also gets a first outing.

Among Tuesday’s varied collection films are two shorts receiving world premières: dramas Nesting Grounds (dir Ian Scott McCullough) and local boy Christian Filippone’s first project Stray.

Then we get to Wednesday and this is where our interest lies.

The Levitt Theater at the University of the Arts on South Broad Street in Philadelphia, is hosting the four screening events on the 22nd.  The first kicks off at 5:20pm and contains 3 short films, two dramas and a documentary.  Screening two is a go at 6:20pm and opens with Fabien Martorell’s The Coin.  Watch three more shorts after that and 40 minutes later you could be watching Fabien’s new film Unbelief.  6 short drama films in 70 minutes.

There are more films listed as screening on the Thursday.  There is nothing for Friday or Saturday (25th) which means, at the time of writing, it’s a 5 day event.  Perhaps that will change prior to the first day.  We’ve got what we came for though.

So that’s the Wednesday after next (the 22nd of April) at 6:20pm at the Levitt Theater in Philly.  Got it?

More info is on the official website HERE.

The Coin @ Short. Sweet. Film Fest On Saturday

short_sweet_film_fest_cleveland_poster_1634x2048A short and sweet reminder that short and sweetish short film The Coin will be making its scheduled short appearance at the ‘Short. Sweet. Film Fest‘ in Cleveland, Ohio, this Saturday.

The event takes place at the Alex Theater, part of The Metropolitan At The 9 complex starting on Friday evening with a film and running through to the Sunday evening awards ceremony closer.

The Coin is down for 4:40pm on the Saturday.

When I posted previously about the SSFF schedule I had it listed as being at 4:30pm.  Not sure if I made a mistake or the times have shifted.  Oh, well.  Better you be there 10 minutes early.  Ten minutes late and you’ve missed it.

Tickets and more details are available via the official website HERE.

(Un)Belief In The Coin Continues In Philly

speechless_film_festival_logo_180x180Writer/director/producer Fabien Martorell is ramping up the promotion of his The Coin follow-up short film Unbelief.

After more than a year of The Coin appearing at film festivals around the world you could understand that it will be put to one side in favour of the new boy.  However, that is proving not to be the case.

Fabien has let it be known that The Coin and Unbelief have both been selected for screening at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival in April.  A bit of a sort of homecoming for Kathryn as she attended college and university in the state and, of course, Cold Case was set there.

Unbelief stars Andrew Howard (Limitless) and Tobin Bell (Saw I/II/III/IV/V/VI/VIII (he missed one!)).  Two men meet in a park on Xmas Eve.  One of them is an assassin.  I doubt they’re exchanging gifts and sharing eggnog.

At time of posting the PIFF screening schedule has not been announced, probably because the organisers only stopped accepting submissions in the past week.  The festival runs from the 17th to the 25th of April.  I’ll update you when I can.

Information about the festival can be found on the official website HERE.

Short. Sweet. Film Fest. Long. Detailed. Schedule.

short_sweet_film_fest_cleveland_poster_1634x2048It may be called the ‘Short. Sweet. Film Fest‘ but their schedule for the festival is anything but.

The ‘Short. Sweet. Film Fest’ is a single venue event running over 3 days with the most detailed plan of events I’ve seen of any of the dozens I’ve looked at the past few years.

The Coin, the short film by Fabien Martorell and starring Christopher Lloyd (Taxi) and Kathryn, will be screened during the festival in Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday the 11th of April.  The venue is the Alex Theater, The Metropolitan At The 9 complex.

What normally happens at these short film festivals is for the individual movies to be grouped together, often around a common theme, to make a longer single screening.  The exact timing of a particular item, or even the order, is thus rendered an unnecessary detail.

Not for the short ‘Short. Sweet. Film Fest.’ it isn’t.

Earlier this month the organisers released the official poster (see above right) and the schedule for the long weekend’s activities.  It’s done to the minute for the every showing.

So, The Coin slots (see what I did there? never mind) in at 4:30pm, just after a ‘presentation’ by a local brewery.

Tickets and more details are available via the official website HERE.
