American Cancer Society Gala

americacancersocietygala_003Bit of a surprise to stumble across this this morning.

Kathryn attended a charity gala supporting the American Cancer Society organised by Beauty-Stem yesterday (15th November 2024).

I don’t know anything about most of the other people photographed but the lady in red is English actress Victoria Summer (Saving Mr Banks).  She is a global ambassedor for Teen Cancer America.

From Embers Premiere Event

from_embers_premiere_002From Embers had it’s official premiere in Los Angeles last Sunday (27th October 2024).

Most of the main cast we able to attend with Kathryn.  Nice to see her out an event like this again.  It’s been a while.

Alongside Kathryn were the writer/director of the film Kate Boham (Harper) and lead actors Matthew Morrison (Glee) and Kara Wang (Top Gun: Maverick, “Top Gun: Maverick”).  Other cast members Kayla Bohan (Kayla), Alexander J. Lee (9-1-1: Lone Star) and Omi Vaidya (Metro Park) also attended.

It looks like after the screening there was a Q&A with the cast/crew.

Kathryn To Attend Hollywood Show Convention

hollywoodshow_banner_720x207Thanks to AJ for passing along the tip that Kathryn is due to attend a fan convention event in Los Angeles in October.

The Hollywood Show has been around a long time, having first started in 1979, and now hosts multiple events per year mainly at the Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel in LA.

Kathryn was recently added to the list of around 70 celebrities from many eras and genres of the entertainment world that will be at the next scheduled convention.

The event will be on Friday and Saturday the 18th-19th of October, running from 4pm-8pm on the Friday and 10am-6pm on Saturday.  Though it is up to the individual star the hours they do and there will likely be fees.

It is not entirely clear to me how these events run but I would presume you get to do meet & greets, get autographs, and have photographs taken with your celebs of choice.

Looking at the extensive list of planned attendees it is nice to see that you could have a mini Cold Case reunion as Tracie Thoms was also recently added.  And to really go back into the archives Tim Matheson, who started with and directed Kathryn in the TV movie Hell Swarm, as well as several episodes of Cold Case, is included.  Check the KM UK archives for more on Hell Swarm.

17th Annual Ante Up For Autism

ante_up_for_autism_2023_001.jpgThe Ante Up For Autism annual event took place again in late September to raise money for TACA (The Autism Community in Action).

Kathryn attended the event with her two boys, both of whom have autism.  Nearly $1m was raised so far at this year’s charity auction.

Having been thrust into the world of autism by her family situation has become and advocate for the condition, having set up her own organisation, The Savants, and is an Ambassador for TACA.

Hayseed Premieres At Pottstown PA Premiere

poster_012.jpgThe movie Hayseed will be featuring at the first ever Pottstown Film Fest later this week.

The event is two days long, with the opening night being dedicated to short films.  Hayseed closes out the second evening of entertainment.

For those that don’t know, and their can’t be many of you, Pottstown is a borough of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania in the US of A.  All of you Cold Case fans really should know this as it is around 30 miles (45km) outside Philadelphia :-)

The film festival is the brain child of actor and Pottstown native, Kyle Klaus.  He both acted in and is a producer on Hayseed.  The festival is part of the Manhattan Short 2023 event which, despite the name, takes place in venue all over America.

Kyle’s previous acting credits include drama the series The Blacklist and FBI.  He is starring in an upcoming movie called Ballad Of A Hustler, due to première in a Brazilian film festival next week, and a short film called Roundabout which opens an upcoming film festival in Pottstown.

Hang on a minute!!!  You mean this man has created a new film festival in his home town and the first and last films to feature are ones he is in!?  Fair play to the man.

Not surprisingly Kyle will be making an appearance at his own festival, notably in a Q&A with Hayseed writer/director Travis Burgess after the film’s screening on Friday night.
