Kathryn Signs With Gersh

In the original news item about Kathryn being in negotiations to star in Moneyball it was mentioned in passing that she had signed with The Gersh Agency, having left WME back in April.

The other day (26th August 2010) Deadline.com reported that Kathryn has indeed signed with The Gersh Agency.  A snippet from the piece.

GERSH has signed film and TV actress Heather Graham. Also Kathryn Morris, Henry Ian Cusick (Lost), and writer/director Daryl Wein & Zoe Lister-Jones (Breaking Upwards) who sold their original comedy pitch And Motherf***cker off a logline Sunday night to Fox Searchlight.

No Cold Case S7 On Sky 1

Cold_Case_S06E17_lilly_107I know a lot of people reach this site whilst looking for information about whether UK satellite TV station Sky 1 will be showing Cold Case Season 7.  Hopefully this will be of some use to them.

It’s been a quite a few months since I last looked into if/when Sky 1 would be showing Cold Case series 7 so I posed the question to Sky’s Viewer Relations department again.  Previously the response has been along the non-committal lines of “Sky 1 has no plans at present to show it”.

Now, however, the answer has changed to “Sky 1… will not be airing series 7 of Cold Case” citing the reason of “other programming commitments.” Which I guess means that the show has been dropped in favour of other new shows.

Cold Case has been a regular (sometimes several times a day) on Sky 1 and its sister channel Sky 2 for the past few years.  The broadcaster’s free-to-air channel, Sky 3, has also regularly carried older series of Cold Case, with series 6 coming to an end in the next week or so.

If Sky 1 doesn’t broadcast S7 then it is unlikely that Sky 3 will.  Searches of Sky schedules across all channels show no episodes of Cold Case airing in the coming month once Sky 3 have completed S6.

If you have any further information on CC S7 being shown in the UK on any channels please let us know.

Moneyball Confirmation

No question mark on the subject line this time.

It looks like we have a sighting of Kathryn not only near the production of Moneyball, as suggested previously, but actually involved in filming.  Great news!

This morning Twitter user Big Rimmed Glasses posted the following message:

had a great time at #moneyball set today!! brad, jonah, PSH, katheryn, angelina, and chris!!! AHH SO MANY AWESOMNESS! – Link

I replied hoping to confirm that that was indeed a typo (I think we’ll forgive it) and that they were referring to our Kathryn.  BRG kindly responded with:

@KM_UK yea she was on set yesterday. she had a small scene filmed yesterday from what i could see. – Link

Big thanks to BRG for the information.

Moneyball Confirmation?

Just spotted a Twitter message from user TheAggregator (Matthew Nelson).

Hunh.. the very nice lady I gave directions to last night on the set was Kathryn Morris http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0606700/ #moneyball Shrug

This could very well be confirmation of Kathryn’s involvement in the movie Moneyball that we’ve been looking for.  Moneyball, based on the book of the same name by Michael Lewis, stars Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, the General Manager of the Oakland As baseball team.  Matthew has been on set during filming of baseball game scenes at the Oakland Coliseum.

Thanks to Matthew for the info.

Kathryn Gets The (Money)ball Rolling

It is being widely reported (Empire Online, Comingsoon.net, The Hollywood Reporter, New York Magazine amongst others) that Kathryn is in negotiations to star in a new movie called Moneyball.

The movie is an adaptation of the book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game by Michael Lewis, a non-fiction telling of the story of Billy Beane as he puts together the Oakland A’s baseball team on a limited budget.

Brad Pitt will star as the lead character with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright amongst the big stars already signed-up for the film.  Kathryn is being earmarked for the role of Billy’s second wife.

Filming starts today (12 July 2010) and the movie is due for release next year.

As an aside it would appear that since leaving the WME agency in April Kathryn has signed with The Gersh Agency.  Hopefully the move will lead to more roles.

More news as we find it.

Update: I’ve spent a bit of time trying to pull together some information on the movie Moneyball.  You’ll find what I found after the jump.  Quite a tale it is too.
