It appears that the release of Cougars, Inc. (previously known as Mother’s Little Helpers) has been moved to next summer.
If true, such a move should come as no surprise to followers of news on this film as there has been no sign of any promotional activity leading up to the expected 20 December 2010 release date, except for a promotional photoshoot taking place last month. The results of that have not been seen yet. All parties involved in the film have been notably silent on the issue of its release. That late-2010 date was found on the film’s IMDb entry early this year and we’ve had little reason to doubt it until recently. A few days before Xmas always struck me as an odd time to launch such a film though.
The image above is a still from the end of an unreleased test video for Cougars, Inc. I’ve been able to track down. Kathryn does not feature in it. The grammatically odd “This Summer 2011” wording suggests that this is not a clip that will be used for official promotional work but the originator of the clip and other activities I’ve found evidence of leaves me to believe the clip is genuine.
So, roll on Summer 2011.
ET Online are reporting that Kathryn will feature in a forthcoming book, M: Mermaids Of Hollywood, by the photographer Mark Anderson.
Kristen Bell, Mena Suvari and Connie Britton are among the 60 celebs starring in the mermaid-themed set of photographs. The book is due out in March 2011. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this one
A small example photo found in the article (shown above) has been added to the Gallery.
Read the ET Online article HERE.
Update: It looks like this book might also be an eBook App for the iPhone and iPad and will be made available via the iTunes Store, possibly before the end of the year. A ‘Making of’ video can be found HERE on YouTube, Kathryn does not appear in it at all but if it gives a reasonable impression of what Kathryn’s photo might include… WOWZA! 😉
The listing on IMDb for Kathryn’s soon to be released (if the 20th December date is to be believed still) movie Mother’s Little Helpers suggests that it has changed it’s name to Cougars, Inc.
I’m not sure it is an improvement but it might be an easier sell in international markets, as well as separating the movie from the early version that leaked online.
So far I’ve not found any further evidence of this change so we’ll treat it appropriately for now.
Yes, Sendera. That’s the title of the soap opera that Kathryn and Eva Longoria Parker are co-producing for the ABC television network in the US. The one Kathryn mentioned in an interview at the Environmental Media Association Awards earlier this year. The signing of the deal has been on the cards for over a month but it must now have been completed.
Kathryn’s Hotplate Productions, Eva’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment and ABC Studios are co-creating the drama about two wealthy families, one either side of the Texas-Mexico border, and their on-going feud.
It seems that Kathryn, Alan Barnette, Josh Gold and Sally Robinson (script writer) developed the show with Eva and Virginia Trinkle (Unbelievable) joining Kathryn, Alan and Sally as executive producers.
It may be unrelated but there is a neighbourhood of Oak Hill in Austin, Texas called Sendera. The word is also Catalan for “path”.
Read the story, as broken by Nellie Andreeva, at Deadline.com. Variety have their take on the story here.
According to various sources Moneyball‘s release date has been narrowed down to Friday 23 September 2011. Previously Kathryn informed us it was planned for September, without mentioning a specific day.
See ComingSoon.net, Box Office Mojo and Collider.com (reporting on the Box Office Mojo piece).
Moneyball stars Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland A’s baseball team. Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright co-star in the film adaptation of Michael Lewis’ book of the same name.
Thanks to IcyWinter for the heads-up.
