(Clock set to expire at 9am LA time)
Today’s the day that the Revival House (Kathryn’s new production company) trademark reaches the end of its “opposition” period.
People have had the last 30 days to register any queries over trademark serial number 85414167 covering the use of the name Revival House in the area of “Entertainment, namely, production of television shows and motion pictures”.
Hopefully things have passed off without a problem and can now move forward to the next stage. As noted previously, the mark has to be used within the next 6 months and the USPTO notified of that.
We will, of course, let you know as soon as we have more news on the subject.
There’s been a theme to recent photo updates of Kathryn’s public appearances in 2007. One of those themes has been promotion for the film Resurrecting The Champ. But what of the film itself?
Well, we have updates about that too
Remember the really fantastic and really huuuuuge image of Kathryn in jeans, sitting on the steps looking at some bits paper with Josh Hartnet hovering near by? Aha! Caught you out! No, the image above is not the one you remember. It’s a new, previously unseen variation on that image with Josh also sitting down. Kathryn is in a near identical pose but the angle of the shot is further around to the front. Unfortunately, the photo is not quite as huge as the previous one
The photographer must have thought that the new angle was better and concluded that even more would be even better still. He was right! It’s the same pose again but we get to see a whole other side of the loveliness. The only other ways to describe the image are… on the right and tragically small
We’re not done yet.

There it is (edited slightly for the sake of saving space). Buried on page 1078 of a 1658 page long PDF document. Boy that was a dull 1077 pages! What? ‘Search’ you say? Curious…
That is the entry for Revival House, Kathryn’s new production company, as it appears in the USPTO Official Gazette, the fortnightly publication detailing new trademarks up for opposition.
Now there is a 30 day wait (from the 14th of Feb 2012 date of the document’s release) for people to register their opposition.
If my understanding is correct (and I’ve proven before it could easily not be) a further 8 weeks beyond that date a registration certificate will be issued. Then the mark has to be used within 6 months and a statement to that effect filed with the USPTO.
To liven up this not-so-exciting process here is a countdown timer to the end of that 30 day period. I’ve chosen 9am LA time (PST) on the day in question (15th March 2012) as the zero hour.
Now I know how to do a countdown timer expect it to appear again in future
Before Kathryn became Lilly, she got a taste of what it was like to be the other side of the interrogation room table. The wily blonde still got her man but in this instance the blonde wasn’t Det. Rush, it was Jessica Fletcher, as played by Angela Lansbury in the long running TV show and four TV movies of Murder, She Wrote.
Released on Tuesday (14th Feb 2012) that quartet of movies is now available as a DVD box set in America. You can find it on the US Amazon store HERE.
Four years after a small role in one of the last ever episodes of the Murder, She Wrote TV series Kathryn starred in the second of the TV movies. A Story To Die For (the subtitle of the movie we are interested in) sees angel of death Jessica Fletcher (what? people are always dying when she’s around!) at a writers conference when, predictably enough, a murder takes place (see, told you!). Kathryn is Patricia Williams, an aspiring writer herself, who is at the conference to act as an assistant to Warren Pierce (an old friend of Jessica’s and also a writer). Eye-witnesses cause Patricia to come under suspicion and see her questioned by the police.
Screencaps of Kathryn in A Story To Die For have been in the KM UK Gallery for a long time and can be found HERE.
A few weeks ago I posted about how the name of Kathryn’s new production company, Revival House, had been “approved for publication” as a trademark.
Although every word of the piece was true, and still is, in light of new information the headline and tone was a little misleading. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I’m no expert (clearly!) in trademark law and should have researched the meaning of the phrase further before posting. Apologies for any confusion caused. Mea culpa.
To clarify the situation: a recent update in the process suggests to me that “approved for publication” actually means that the chosen name cleared basic checks to search for any obvious clashes with other organisations in the same field. That’s the “approved” part. The next step is “publication”.
A couple of weeks ago “notification of publication” was issued stating that the “mark” will be included in the Official Gazette, the weekly journal of the USPTO (United States Patent And Trademark Office) that details filed applications. This is done to allow for 3rd parties to raise issues. Any opposition has to be put forward within 30 days of the publication. It is the “speak now or for ever hold your peace” moment. Revival House will be include in the Feb 14th edition.
Being a fan of Kathryn is educational. Who knew?
For those interest in the details you can them on the Trademarkia website.
