Sunday’s Mother, the short film Kathryn made last year, has been submitted to the Phenom Film Fest for 2012.
The Phenom Film Fest takes place in Bossier City, Louisiana, over four days in early September. More information can be found on the event’s website HERE.
The film was made the “short film submission of the week” by the organisers yesterday (22 July 2012) just before the time to submit entries closed.
We will bring you more news on festival and the part Sunday’s Mother plays when we get it.
For more information on and the trailer for Sunday’s Mother, a film partly funded by KM UK and it’s readers, see previous posts.
I have managed to track down a few details on the film The Coin that we recently discovered Kathryn was filming. But first let’s deal with the image above which has no doubt caught your eye.
In the photo you can see (left to right) actor Christopher Lloyd (Back To The Future), director & co-writer Fabien Martorell, Kathryn, and co-writer & producer Golan. Just out of shot (see the Gallery for the full image) is young Jack Shepherd.
Other than the cast, which also includes Adam McArthur and Jesse Burges, we can bring you the following information:
It is a short film
Filming was completed in just a couple of days
The filming wrapped on Wednesday the 4th of July 2012
Christopher could be playing a homeless man or some kind of vagrant
At this stage I don’t know any more details about the plot but if I had to hazard a guess I’d say that Kathryn is playing the mother to Jack’s character and they come into contact with Christopher’s character. I don’t think it would be big a stretch to assume a coin is involved.
Being a short film would explain the relatively under-the-radar nature of this film. I understand that IMDb will not take submissions for short films until they are completed, as we found previously with Sunday’s Mother. Also, no details have been found so far on the plans for releasing or screening the film.
In an article just published about the director Fabien Martorell signing on to direct the movie of Chuck Palahniuk’s novel Snuff, ComingSoon.net is reporting that the same director is currently filming The Coin with Kathryn.
Martorell, meanwhile, recently wrapped The Guns Story, a documentary about legendary guitarist Tracii Guns (founder of L.A. Guns and Guns N’ Roses), and is currently filming The Coin starring Christopher Lloyd and Kathryn Morris.
Read the article in full HERE (I should warn you that the description of Snuff is a bit NSFW).
Rachel Abrams over at the Variety website is reporting (again, a bit NSFW) the same thing in much the same minimal manner.
Director Michael Damian has let it be known via Twitter that filming on Confections Of A Discarded Woman has completed.
Based on previous information it was due to end on the 24th of June, though I don’t believe that today’s message necessarily contradicts that. Michael mentioned that he is now on a writers retreat in France so could have been there a couple of days.
In a short series of Tweets about the film Michael sent a few photos taken during the process. Only one of these appears to include Kathryn (see right), and even then I have my doubts. Check out the full-sized version in the Gallery and let us know what you think. Is that her on the very right of frame?
The fact that filming has wrapped is a good thing but now we have to wait a year to see the results
You can read more about the film and Kathryn’s role in it in earlier posts HERE and HERE. The film’s IMDb page continues to be updated (it is now listed as being in post-production) with an increasing cast list, most of them English actors.
Thanks to Michael for the information and allowing KM UK to share his photos.
This should not be taken as an official official confirmation but in the past few hours the IMDb page for Confections Of A Discarded Woman has been updated to include Kathryn Morris in the lead role of Desiree Harper.
Anyone can submit updates to IMDb so it could very well be one of you that entered the information and the staff of IMDb having seen the recent news reports has gone with it. Was it you?
