Kathryn Added To 2 Br/1 Ba On IMDb

imdb_logo_100x100The subject above largely covers this one but I’ll explain further.

In the past few days IMDb page for the new feature film starring Alex Vega (Spykids) and Spencer Grammer (Greek) 2 Br/1 Ba has had quite a few casting additions.

Kathryn has finally been added and, as first reported here on KM UK her character is called Olivia Morgan.

Amongst the other cast members recently added is Richard Riehle known for roles on Office Space and Bridesmaids.  Richard must be one of the hardest working actors in Hollywood based on the huge list of films he has done and those that are yet to be released.  He’s in 2 Br/1 Ba as Dr Hoffman.

Filming on 2 Br/1 Ba completed a few weeks ago and the movie is well into post-production.  We’ll bring you more news on progress as we receive it.

Sunday’s Mother Left High & Dry At Brownfish

brownfish_film_festival_2012_120x136Despite the disruption to the US East coast caused by Hurricane Sandy recently this past weekend’s Brownfish Short Film Festival in New York City went ahead largely as planned.  The event ended with an awards gala (sounds grand but in reality probably just a small gathering in a bar somewhere) where the winners in seven film categories were announced.

Sadly, the short film Sunday’s Mother, starring Kathryn as the titular parent, was beaten to the Best Drama award by Tammaso Paino’s Chrome.  Obviously we demand a recount!  However, according to the Brownfish website Tammaso is from the UK so we can’t be too hard on him :-)

Congratulations to all the winners.

The Sweeter Side Of Life Abroad

the_sweeter_side_of_life_255x166Later today (1st November 2012) The Sweeter Side Of Life (née Confections Of A Discarded Woman) will be screened for what could very well be the first time.

Don’t go rushing to your local “World Of Cine” or switching on the TV and tuning to one of the various Hallmark Channels though.  This screening is for a select group of people, and would be very expensive to attend.

The American Film Market (AFM) is an annual trade event running for eight days in early November in Santa Monica, California.

afm_poster_100x156.jpgAttendees of the AFM are film buyers from all over the world that go to the event to decide on films to purchase for broadcast or distribution in their home nation.  Over 400 films will be seen in nearly 600 individual screenings during the week-and-a-day long bash.

These viewings are not open to the public just paying members of the industry.  Even a single day pass costs a couple of hundred Dollars.  Staying for the whole week will set you back several thousand.

None of the cast of The Sweeter Side Of Life are expected to attend the AFM screening.  It is also unlikely we’ll hear any news resulting from the AFM but we felt it was worth mentioning as an insight into the way the film and TV industry works.

Sunday’s Mother @ Brownfish Short Film Festival Reminder – Update

brownfish_film_festival_2012_120x136The recent situation with Hurricane Sandy causing a massive amount of destruction along East Coast of the United States has been watched very closely from around the world.  Our thoughts are with everyone caught-up in it.

This coming Sunday (4th November 2012) was due to see the short film Sunday’s Mother starring Kathryn screened at the Brownfish Short Film Festival NYC 2012.  With the significant disruption in New York it is not clear at this time if the event will happen at all.  At present the organisers are considering their options, looking into alternative venues etc.  It would certainly be understandable if the festival was postponed or called off completely.  KM UK is keeping an eye on developments.

If you are considering attending the festival check the event’s Facebook page for the latest news.  Please don’t try and travel to the New York unless it is safe to do so.

Along with 5 other films Sunday’s Mother will be up for the Best Drama award at this New York based festival.  There there will be 22 films in total shown across the three day event.  For more details see the Brownfish.com website.

If the festival does go ahead and you are able to attend the screening of Sunday’s Mother please do let us know what you think of Kathryn’s performance and the film in general.  It would be great to hear some feedback from attendees.

Update (3rd November):  With power restored in the relevant part of New York the festival is going ahead as originally planned.  This means that Sunday’s Mother will be screened on Sunday (4th November) at the Cinema Village22 East 12th Street, NYC, at 4:30pm local time.

Revival House Extension #1

revival_house_logo_430x38.gif

It has been just over 6 months since the Notice Of Allowance (NOA) was issued for the trademark of Revival House, the name of Kathryn’s latest production company.  In that time no evidence was submitted to the USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office) that shows the mark being used commercially, as is required.

Last week an application was made by Kathryn’s legal representative to extend the period in which a Statement Of Use (SOU) can be provided.  The extension request was quickly granted.  This means that there is now another half year added to the time before an SOU has to be filed.

However, the April 2013 deadline is not necessarily the end of it as the process can be repeated another 4 times, giving a total of 3 years from the NOA to use the mark.  If an extension period passes without a request for more time, or the 3 year limit is reached, then the mark will abandoned.  We saw this with Kathryn’s previous company: Hotplate Productions.

Hopefully before we get to April we will hear news of Kathryn’s plans for the Revival House production company.

The Trademarkia website has all the technical details.
