Inspired by last week’s posting of about an interview and chat with Kathryn, I was wondering what would you say?
As a quick reminder: reporting for the Pass The Remote website back in 2007, LillyKat attended a special screening of Resurrecting The Champ. After showing the film there was a Q&A session with several key people, including Kathryn, from the project. LillyKat was able to ask Kathryn some questions about the film, the character she played and her return to the big screen.
After the after LillyKat was got a chance to talk one-on-one with Kathryn and ask her some more questions. You can read the two-part article LillyKat wrote about the experience starting HERE.
If you were in the same two situations what would you ask Kathryn? Is there a question you have about Resurrecting The Champ or Kathryn’s character Joyce? Can you think of a way that you would explore those points further in a later one-on-one? Perhaps this would give you a chance to talk more about Kathryn’s wider body of work. Remember that this is 2007 so season 5 of Cold Case is just about to start airing, and Cougars, Inc. or Moneyball do not exist yet.
Please leave your ideas in the comments below, mentioning whether each question would fit in to the Q&A or the 1-on-1. Let’s keep the understandable fan-boy/girl gushing to a minimum and treat it like you are a proper reporter preparing an article for a newspaper or website.
Who knows, maybe one day we’ll be able to put some of your questions to Kathryn herself.
I’m not sure it gets better than that.
Day 4 of Kathryn’s time at the Sundance Film Festival (22 April 2007, day 5 of the festival) was devoid of “lounges”, première or screenings. She did, however, do an interview for the website IndependentFilm.com at the ESPN Sports Zone bar on Main Street in Park City. Kathryn spoke to Corey Boutilier about Resurrecting The Champ which premièred earlier in the week. You can see a small video of the interview on the IndependentFilm website.
We don’t see Kathryn reach for the glass on the bar until the end of the video but you do get the impression that there was some imbibing before the cameras rolled. She’s in a fun and rather flirty mood
Watch the video and you’ll see a series of camera flashes as a photographer takes some still shots as the interview takes place. The man wielding the camera is John Mazlish.
Not only has John kindly allow KM UK to post the photo seen with the video and on his own website, he has also very generously given us two additional photos from the set. These are previously unseen so are something of an exclusive to KM UK. I’m sure you’ll agree that John has done a wonderful job of capturing Kathryn’s natural beauty with the vivid colours and sharpness of the images. I don’t think John can take credit for the smile though
I struggled a bit with how to classify these photos. It wasn’t really a public appearance, or an interview, despite an interview taking place, so I’ve gone with “photoshoot”. John gets his own album in the Photoshoot section of the KM UK Gallery. See all three fantastic photos in the Gallery.
Huge thanks to John to taking such great photos and allowing us to showcase them here. You can see more of John Mazlish’s work on his website HERE.
Every so often on KM UK we have the great pleasure of bringing our dear readers (that’d be you) something a little different. Today is another of those days.
Canadian (Halifax, Nova Scotia to be more precise) band Dance Movie has made an album of songs inspired by female detectives on TV called Ladycops. Olivia Benson of Law & Order: SVU, The Killing‘s Sarah Linden, Jane Rizzoli of Rizzoli & Isles, and, of course, our very own Lilly Rush are each the subject of their own song on the EP.
Dance Movie’s vocalist and guitarist, Tara Thorne, who wrote the four songs, kindly agreed to do a Q&A-style interview for us at KM UK. You can read the results below.
If you have any questions for Tara then please post them as comments on this article and we’ll see if we can persuade her to drop by and reply.
Ladycops, was released on the 1st of September. It is available free to listen to on, or download from, Dance Movie’s Bandcamp page. The band also has a MySpace page and you can follow them on Twitter.
Update: Tara has allowed me to add the Rush track and a copy of the lyrics to the Gallery.

Today we have a small addition to the magazine section of the Gallery with another piece on Kathryn from First For Women magazine. This time it is from the August 2008 edition.
It’s not a proper discussion-type of interview, more a simple question & answer session written up as a series of statements by Kathryn. We get Kathryn’s thoughts on her acceptance of her beautiful pale skin and the wish to challenge herself regularly.
The mention of filming in Canada a couple of summers previously (2006) will most likely have been Resurrecting The Champ, which appeared at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2007 and was released later that year.
A scan of the magazine is now in the Gallery and a full transcript is below.
Thanks to my brochure buddy Sammie for her help.

To continue our trawl through the publication archives we have a fun little interview with Kathryn in the June 2007 edition of CBS Watch! magazine.
Kathryn had just visited London (why didn’t you say you were coming?) with her sister and got to take in the sights and shops of London town between filming promos for Sky TV (the broadcaster of Cold Case in the UK that goes unnamed in the article). It sounds like she enjoyed her time greatly.
In the Gallery are scans of the magazine pages and after the jump is a transcript of the interview.
Kathryn, if you are ever visiting the UK again please do let me know. You can bunk with me to save on hotel 😉
Big thanks again to my magazine girl Sammie for her help.
