Surgical Strike!

This was unexpected!

We thought it was completely dead and buried. Never to be seen or heard of again. But no! It takes one final dying breath. One last blip on the ECG before flat-lining.

After failing to be picked up to series it was likely that the Surgeon General pilot would remain locked up in the deepest of CBS’s vaults “on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet, stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard’” (points for getting that reference) and forgotten about forever. Luckily for us PR and marketing company The Cimarron Group had other ideas.

Last Friday, for reasons unknown, Cimarron announced to the world that the show was “coming this fall to CBS”. They are wrong about that, it won’t. However, they were kind enough to post a “sizzle reel” promotional video to go with it. The promo would have been used at the Upfront events if Surgeon General ever got that far. Which it didn’t.

In the video we get to see all the major cast (“Hello to” Jason Issacs, Mike Colter, Beth Riesgraf, Paul McCrane, Anna Deavere Smith, Clancy Brown and Katherine McNamara) including Kathryn, who features prominently in several scenes. Sean Astin is notable by his absence though.

Just to reiterate: this does not mean the show will be made or that the pilot will ever be broadcast.

Sunday’s Mother Goes Wild

The password has been removed from the online version of the short film Sunday’s Mother so it can now be viewed freely, and you can still do so via the special page on KM UK here.

It has also been posted on the new Defiant Picturehouse (formerly Titan Pictures Media) website.

We’d again like to thank all those connected to Sunday’s Mother for allowing KM UK to be so involved with the project from such an early stage. It was an interesting experience and a privilege.

Cold Case S02E10 – Discretion HD Screencaps

Not only is it actually summer but England is having an actual summer. As the “cream” (sarcastic air-quotes) of Britain’s tabloid press would have it: Phew! What a scorcher!

An ambitious young assistant district attorney is very directly involved in his own murder case in the lead up to trying a high profile murder case. Oh, the irony. Was he on the take too?

Exclusive! Sunday’s Mother

You have waited long enough. It is time for the big KM UK Exclusive.

Ahead of its public release later this month (more on that when it happens), KM UK can bring you the full version of Sunday’s Mother. Only a select few have so far been able to watch the whole of the 14 minute long short film starring Kathryn, Chase Ellison, Brian Norris and Riley Smith.

In recognition of the support this site and its viewers gave to the project from the fund raising onwards, the writer and director Aaron Jackson has very kindly granted KM UK special permission to show you his work. A very big thank you to Aaron and the production team of Sunday’s Mother for allowing us this access.

Filmed in the summer of 2011 Sunday’s Mother tells the story of Sunday (Chase) and his mother (Kathryn), a recent divorcee, who have just moved to a new home. A bully (Brian) threatens to expose a secret about Sunday’s mother.

Aaron is currently working on a new project: the film adaptation of the Jessica Brody book The Fidelity Files. Filming is due to start next year. More details can be found on the film’s official website. We wish Aaron all the best for the future.

Cold Case S02E09 – Mind Hunters Full HD Screencaps

For one of the first posts of KM UK’s Summer Of HD for 2013 that is actually in what passes for summer in England we have the big one: Mind Hunters. First broadcast in November of 2004 it is not to be confused with the film Mindhunters, also starring Kathryn, that was released very slowly across the world during 2004 and 2005. America didn’t see it until May of 2005.

A regular game you could play with Cold Case was “the famous person did it”. When a guest star well known from another show or shows takes a role it tends to be a significant one. You don’t bring out the big guns for a minor part after all. John Billingsley has done a lot of different shows before (including Touched By An Angel and Six Feet Under) and after (Nip/Tuck, Prison Break, NCIS, 24, Leverage and True Blood, amongst others) but his defining role has to be as Dr Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise. It was whilst that was still airing that John put in a particularly memorable performance as George Marks in this (and one other) episode of Cold Case.

A newly discovered headless corpse leads the squad to uncover a possible serial killer. Could he be right under their noses? Errr… yes.
