Cold Case S04E02 – War At Home Photo Update

still_004.jpgAfter last week’s gentle start, with just the one new photo to please you with, this week we really going for it.  And by for it, I mean 5.

Yes, 5 new promo photos from Cold Case season 4, episode 2, ‘War At Home’, which was first broadcast the first of October 2006.  That would make it 15 years ago, which fits in perfectly with our ’15 years on’ series of posts.

Only 5 images you say!  Each image is very large and high quality so I’d say each counts as at least 2, maybe 3.

See all 5 of the huge, full-sized pictures in the KM UK Gallery.

Cold Case S04E01 – Rampage Photo Update

still_004.jpgWe ended the season 3 retrospective very strongly with an amazing set of new full HD screencaps from ‘Joseph‘, so we thought you’d want a bit of break to calm down.

To ease you back in gently (no sniggering at the back!), we start the ‘Cold Case 15 years on’ series with a single new promo photo from the first episode of season 4, ‘Rampage’.  The 24th of September 2006 was when this one first aired in the US.

‘Rampage’ was, for many, their first introduction to the actor Kyle Gallner as one of the two teenagers that embarked on a school shooting.  Kathryn and Kyle’s working together five years later was very different.

The full-sized version of the image you see above is now to be found in KM UK’s stuffed to the gills, image Gallery.  It’s the 4th in the set.

Cold Case S03E23 – Joseph Full HD Screencaps

Cold_Case_S03E23_1080p_099We only got to spend a brief time with Lilly Rush over the course of seven seasons of Cold Case.  In the course of that we didn’t learn a huge amount about the lady herself.  One thing that was clear though, was that she did not have a lot of success in her personal relationships.

‘Joseph’, episode 23 of Cold Case season 3, showed us the very beginning of the latest and it was not a strong start.  Falling for a dead guy in a photo and then pointing a gun at the same man is hardly one you tell the grandkids.

The Joseph in question was thought to be a murder victim from a case just a year before.  Lilly manages to narrowly avoid dating a ghost by finding him alive.  She goes off the books a bit during the investigation, a fact that is noticed by Lieutenant Stillman.  We get the whole disappointed father/disgraced daughter thing.  This continues into the next season.

Bringing to an end our look back at Cold Case season 3 episode 15 years after they were first broadcast, we have a huge 460 (Full HD, 1080p) new screencaps in the Gallery.  It’s a very Lilly-centric episode so there’s lots of scenes to cover.

Cool As Ice – New Blu-ray

cool_as_ice_blu-ray_001From what I can gather, this movie is about a man called Ray who is so blue with cold that he’s turned into ice.  Or something like that.  The reality is not much less preposterous frankly.

Back the early 1990s, rapper Vanilla Ice (a ridiculously weak pseudonym for someone trying to project toughness) became a major celebrity.  It was a simpler time.  His hit song ‘Ice Ice Baby’, continues to haunt the airwaves to this day.  As is the way for the entertainment industry, it couldn’t let a potential cash-cow like this go un-milked so it made a movie especially for it.  Fortunately, such aberrations seem to be rarer these days.  They just get reality TV series on obscure channels instead.

For those unaware of this little slice of Kathryn’s early career, Cool As Ice was her second credited role.  She’s only in a couple of brief scenes as a friend of the female lead (Kristin Minter, ER).  It’s hardly Kathryn’s big break, a couple of blink-and-you’ll-almost-miss-her moments, but every actor has to start somewhere.

The plot is standard boy-meets-girl type stuff.  She’s the good girl.  He’s the bad boy who rolls into town.  Swoon.

Last week a new Blu-ray version of Cool As Ice was released in the US by publisher Kino Lorber.  I believe that is a new 1080p (full HD) transfer so should be better than any previous version.  The disc also includes an audio commentary by two film experts and some trailers.  There doesn’t appear to be any versions of the disc for other parts of the world, so be aware if you were to import it to your part of the globe it may not play on your equipment.  I don’t have details of the region coding.

Cool As Ice on Blu-ray and other formats can be found on the US Amazon site HERE.

Amazingly, this film has gone largely unmentioned here on KM UK, though there have been some decent sized screencaps in the Gallery since this site’s inception.

Cold Case S03E22 – The River Full HD Screencaps

Cold_Case_S03E22_1080p_025Hasn’t the image above just made your day a little bit better?  Whether it was good or bad before, it’s improved now.  One of the (very many) things we love above about Kathryn, even when play Lilly Rush, who has her reasons not to, is that she. Gives.  Good.  Smiles.

At this point in these posts I usually make reference to the story (the shooting of an ER doctor with a gambling problem) in the episode and the fact it first aired 15 years ago today.  Not doing that just yet.  No sir-ee.  Just basking in the smile for a while longer….  a bit more….

So, where was I?  Oh yes, ‘The River’ was about the shooting of ER doctor with a gambling problem and the episode first aired 15 years ago today.  Did I?  Oh well.

Just added further enhancement to your Friday (or whatever day you see this on) we have 2 new high resolution promo photos (see 1 of them below right) to join our brand new 160 (Full HD, 1080p) screencaps in the Gallery.
