Cold Case might be big in Japan. Kathryn might be big in Japan. However, in June of 2007 Kathryn’s dresses certainly weren’t
The day before the Cold Case promo event in Tokyo (posted about last month), in which Kathryn wore a very slight number, she was strutting her stuff on the red carpet in something of similar surface area. Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix, which I believe was the 5th in the enormously successful series, received its world-wide première in Japan on June 28th 2007, almost a week before the UK event. Am I the only person in the world to have never read an HP book?
Our look back through 2007 has had a multitude of recurring themes (Resurrecting The Champ, premières, Cold Case, festivals and motor sport amongst them). Now we have to add short dresses. With this event, the Cold Case promo, the Monte Carlo TV Festival reception, the Vegas GP Gala and the Resurrecting The Champ première it must have been one of the shortest years on record!
Anyway, Kathryn looks great with her hair up in her very complicatedly colourful dress. Very glam.
We have just 3 photos for our first posting on this event, but 2 of them you may not have seen before. They are in the Gallery now.
Thanks to Megapixie for number 3 (the one on the right).
Last year’s KM UK Summer of HD covering season 4 of Cold Case had a few gaps in it. One of those gaps was episode 4, Baby Blues.
The PPD’s ME, Frannie, makes a rare appearance in this one, nearly her last in fact. Frannie brings an old case to the squad regarding the death of a 6 month old baby. As if this case bringing up some issues related to her own neglected childhood aren’t enough, Lilly has to contend with ‘motorcycle man’ Ray playing the old ‘I’m in hospital’ card. What a rookie move, it’s the oldest trick in the book. Worked though 😕
Lilly’s hair-do falls into the the just got out of… the rain style this episode 😉
197 Full HD (1080p) Lilly screencaps from the episode can now be found in the Gallery.
It’s early March 2012 so what could be more appropriate than photos of Kathryn attending the première of the movie Fred Claus in November 2007
We return to our look back of Kathryn’s public appearances in 2007. It’s not a festival. It’s not motor racing. It’s not even related to Resurrecting The Champ. It did involve promoting a movie though, just not one she actually starred in, so we’ve not strayed too far from our recurring themes
Kathryn looks great in her simple jeans, t-shirt, jacket and back ensemble. Throw in an equally understated makeup finish and you’ve got near perfection. Such a natural beauty.
To add to the 63 photos we already had there are 14 more mixed-sized photos in the Gallery.
Yet again the French nation is putting the rest of us (this site excepting of course) to shame in their visible love of Kathryn and Cold Case.
There have been many articles published in the past few weeks on French-based TV news websites that, I think, are declaring the current broadcasting of Cold Case season 7 on the France 2 channel a big hit. If rough translations are accurate it looks like Cold Case is getting substantial audience figures, being amongst the highest rates shows in the country.
This article from early Feb puts it 2nd with over 5.5 million viewers. By the end of the month it is in first place with over 6 million. A third piece from last week says 7 million. Each suggests an audience share of 20% or more.
January and February saw Kathryn starring on the covers of several French TV magazines. Sadly they are not new photos and I don’t think their is much new content inside either. Oh well, it is good to know that the publishers think Kathryn is a good bet for drawing the punters to their wares though. Of course she is, she’s gorgeous.
A February Télé Poche cover (above right) declares in its headline “The real reasons for the ending of Cold Case” (or words to that effect). A Télé Z magazine from January (see left) goes without a statement and just sticks with a picture, the head and shoulders of the same picture in fact.
As well as those two recent magazine covers, we have one more from a year old Télé Z (see right) now added to the Gallery.
Au revoir.
We return to our multi-stranded theme of updates covering Kathryn’s public appearances in 2007.
This time the chosen event only takes in just one of the subjects that seemed to dominate the year: motorsport.
Each April the Grand Prix Of Long Beach, a weekend of motorsport headlined by the IndyCar Series, has a special Toyota Pro/Celebrity race in aid of charities supporting local children’s hospitals. Amazingly this has been going since the 70s. As the name suggests the household names from TV and film compete against established racers from a variety of disciplines of motorsport. The cars they use are near-standard Toyota road cars. The celebs are given training prior to being let loose around the California street circuit on race day.
In 2007 Kathryn was invited to take part in the race along with, amongst others, tennis superstar Martina Navratilova, Emily Proctor (CSI: Miami), Kelly Hu (Martial Law), Aisha Tyler (Friends), Robin Quivers (Howard Stern), George Lucas (Star Wars) and Kendra Wilkinson (Girls Next Door). As you can see there were a significant number of women in the field that year. At the end of the 8 lap race Kathryn finished in 13th (of 17) which is the same position she started in, which shows sensible consistency.
The race formed part of an episode of the freak show that was “Girls Next Door” featuring Kendra Wilkinson, which we dealt with over 2 years ago here on KM UK.
For this update we have added 19 photos to the Gallery of various sizes and quality. The NAPA 200 event update a few weeks ago was headlined by a special photo by Eric Gilbert. This time we are grateful Eric again, this time for allowing us to use two great photos by Earl Ma, also of Motorsport.com. You can see the pair of images showcased above. Sadly, Earl passed away a few weeks after the 2007 event.
