Sunday’s Mother @ Brownfish Short Film Festival Reminder – Update

brownfish_film_festival_2012_120x136The recent situation with Hurricane Sandy causing a massive amount of destruction along East Coast of the United States has been watched very closely from around the world.  Our thoughts are with everyone caught-up in it.

This coming Sunday (4th November 2012) was due to see the short film Sunday’s Mother starring Kathryn screened at the Brownfish Short Film Festival NYC 2012.  With the significant disruption in New York it is not clear at this time if the event will happen at all.  At present the organisers are considering their options, looking into alternative venues etc.  It would certainly be understandable if the festival was postponed or called off completely.  KM UK is keeping an eye on developments.

If you are considering attending the festival check the event’s Facebook page for the latest news.  Please don’t try and travel to the New York unless it is safe to do so.

Along with 5 other films Sunday’s Mother will be up for the Best Drama award at this New York based festival.  There there will be 22 films in total shown across the three day event.  For more details see the Brownfish.com website.

If the festival does go ahead and you are able to attend the screening of Sunday’s Mother please do let us know what you think of Kathryn’s performance and the film in general.  It would be great to hear some feedback from attendees.

Update (3rd November):  With power restored in the relevant part of New York the festival is going ahead as originally planned.  This means that Sunday’s Mother will be screened on Sunday (4th November) at the Cinema Village22 East 12th Street, NYC, at 4:30pm local time.

EXCLUSIVE! Kathryn On Set Of 2 Br/1 Ba – Part 2

on_set_20120927_009Welcome to part 2 of KM UK’s exclusives from the film 2 Br/1 Ba.  Part 1 is here.

We have been very lucky and greatly honoured to have gained exclusive access to photos taken on set during the filming of the new movie 2 Br/1 Ba starring Alexa Vega (Spy Kids) and Spencer Gammer (TV show Greek).  Kathryn has a small but crucial role playing a character called Olivia.

In these additional photos we can see Kathryn posing on her own and with a few members of the crew.  The lady in the green top is Kristen Ruhlin, star of the recent DVD release She Wants Me, and a producer on 2 Br/1 Ba.  The bearded gentleman is the film’s director Rob Margolies.

The four new photos you see here, all exclusive to KM UK, are now in the Gallery.

Many thanks to Kathryn, Kristen, Rob, Catie, and the rest of the cast and crew of 2 Br/1 Ba for joining in and helping.

More soon.

EXCLUSIVE! Kathryn On Set Of 2 Br/1 Ba – Part 1

on_set_20120927_004We’ve got a really big exclusive just for you, the readers of KM UK.

KM UK has secured exclusive access to an exclusive collection of exclusive photos taken exclusively on the set of the new movie 2 Br/1 Ba.  This is the first post in a series of KM UK Exclusives from the film.

Kathryn, starring as Olivia, filmed her scenes in one day in late September 2012 with Alexa Vega (Spy Kids) and Spencer Gammer (TV show Greek).  As we saw recently Kathryn is wearing a Ted Baker dress, a Donna Karan vintage belt and Linea Pelle bag.

4 brand new and exclusive large images of Kathryn on the set are now in the KM UK Gallery.  There are more to come.

We don’t like watermarked images here at KM UK so we have not tagged these.  We hope you will respect that decision.  If you see these images elsewhere they came from here.  If you make any fan art with these photos please let us know.

Did I mention these are a) for KM UK and b) exclusive?  :-)

Many thanks to director Rob Margolies, Catie, the rest of the cast and crew of 2 Br/1 Ba, and of course Kathryn for making this possible.

Look out for part 2 in the coming days.

The Sweeter Side Takes The (Cup)cake – Update

confections_of_a_discarded_womanRecently it became clear that the film we’d got used to calling Confections Of A Discarded Woman had been renamed to The Sweeter Side Of Life.

Kathryn stars in the Hallmark Channel movie, due to be released next year, as a newly divorced trophy wife who finds herself working in the family home-town bakery to make ends meet.

Alongside reporting the news of the name change we ran a poll to canvas the opinion of you, our readers.  Two weeks later and poll has now closed and the results are in.

Over 70% of those that took part agree with the new choice of name, preferring it over the original working title.  Those that want to stick with Confections came to 21%.  A pretty major landslide for the change then.

Thank you to all that took part.

Update:  After posting this article I sent a Tweet to the film’s co-writer/directer Michael Damian to let him know that KM UK’s readership approve of the name change.  His, possibly slightly tongue-in-cheek, response was:

@michaeldamian1:

That is great news! So happy to hear that :-) So “The Sweeter Side of Life” it is) – Link

Thanks to Michael for taking the time to reply.

Which title do you prefer?

  • The Sweeter Side Of Life (71%, 10 Votes)
  • Confections Of A Discarded Woman (21%, 3 Votes)
  • I have a better one, see the comments (7%, 1 Votes)

Total Voters: 14

Kathryn On Set Of 2 Br/1 Ba – Update x2

on_set_20120927_001The clothing company Linea Pelle has published via Twitter the picture you see on the right of Kathryn on the set of the new movie 2 Br/1 Ba.

This is the first peek we’ve had of Kathryn’s look in this film, despite other cast and crew posting several photos from behind the scenes.  It’s certainly an interesting dress.

Kathryn plays Olivia, the assistant to a wealth couple, who has to talk to the two lead female characters that share an apartment.

The accompanying Tweet said:

@lineapelle: Kathryn Morris look great on the set of her new movie with her Dylan Medium Tote. #lineapelle #dmt – Link

Plus there was a link to Instagram with the photo.  It has now been added to the KM UK Gallery.

We expect to have more very soon.

Thank you to Linea Pelle for posting the photo.

Update: Costumer Christina Matthews has been kind enough to pass along to KM UK a slightly larger version of same the photo which has been added to the Gallery.  Thank you to her.  It is a bit darker but gives a full head-to-toe shot.

Update 2: Christina Matthews has told me the following: “shes wearing a Ted Baker dress, Donna Karan vintage belt & a Linea Pelle bag :) and her glasses are her own!”  Thanks to her for that.  I think it might be the “BARDOE – Feather print dress”.
