More Euro Dates For The Perfect Guy

A quick further update on the release dates for The Perfect Guy across Europe.

Two weeks ago, as reported here, the list expanded to include the likes of France and Germany.  Over the following days extras were added.  In the last couple of days additional entries have been appended.

Portugal gets in first with date in late October.  It is followed a week later by Norway, Poland and Romania which have joined Sweden in early November.

The list as it stands now is as follows:

  • Portugal – 29 October 2015
  • Norway – 6 November 2015
  • Poland – 6 November 2015
  • Romania – 6 November 2015
  • Sweden – 6 November 2015
  • Belgium – 18 November 2015
  • France – 18 November 2015
  • Germany – 26 November 2015
  • UK – 27 November 2015

The new items are in bold.

For more details about The Perfect Guy see the initial post here on KM UK about Kathryn being cast in the film.

The Perfect Guy Euro Release Dates – Update x2

One date is never enough is it?  How about three?

Back in late October I reported that the thriller The Perfect Guy could be seeing the light on day here in England in a year’s time.  Of course at the end of November in England there’s not a lot of daylight to be seeing.

That 27th November 2015 release date for The Perfect Guy in the UK has now been more officially confirmed by its appearance on the film’s IMDb page.  Score one for KM UK!

It has been joined by dates for Germany and Sweden.  The Swedes are always ahead of the game so a 6th November release should come as no surprise.  The Germans, however, only get a single day’s advantage over the UK.  There is more to Europe than the United Kingdom, Germany and Sweden of course.  For a start if certain people have their way the UK won’t be part of it any more.  No news on France, Spain, etc. etc.

Still no sign of a home country appearance.  The 19th June 2015 made a brief appearance, as reported here in August, for a US showing but has yet to be seen again.  It’s a little odd.  You’d expect it to be the other way around with America info known first.

The Perfect Guy stars Sanaa Lathan (Boss), Michael Ealy (Almost Human), and Morris Chestnut (Legends).  After leaving her longterm boyfriend (Morris), Leah (Sanaa) meets the titular perfect guy (Michael).  Unfortunately in this case “perfect” is spelt “psycho” and “guy” is spelt “stalker”.  Kathryn’s role is as a close friend of Leah.

More as and when we get it.

Update (6 Dec):  Belgium has been added to the list with an 18th November 2015 release date.

Update (7 Dec):  A now France has been included, sharing the 18th November with Belgium.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence – Friday BBC2

ai_10The BBC are currently running a sci-fi season on BBC Two.  This is chiefly being done with a series of programmes exploring the history of the genre with the benefit of interviews with some of those involved in genre classics like Star Trek and Blade Runner.  Along side those shows some films are being broadcast.

Last Saturday night the first episode of the 4 part documentary was followed by Minority Report, as… errr… reported… last week.  This Friday BBC2 at 11:35pm is showing A.I. Artificial Intelligence.  Details can be found on the BBC’s website here.

I’m beginning to think the scheduler is trying to sneak in a short Kathryn Morris season! :-)

Now all we need is Paycheck to be shown again and we’ll have the full set of KM blockbuster sci-fi films.  Paycheck was last shown in August so I’m thinking it is unlikely.

Paycheck, like Minority Report, is based on a Philip K Dick short story giving them great sci-fi pedigree as he also wrote the stories what became Blade Runner and Total Recall.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence is the story of a small robot boy (Haley Joel Osment, Pay It Forward) created to help a grieving mother  (Frances O’Connor, Mr Selfridge) deal with the loss of her son.  English actress Frances recently guest starred in an episode of the US fantasy drama Once Upon A Time and can currently be seen in the BBC drama The Missing, along side James Nesbitt (Babylon).

Kathryn makes and all too brief appearance as a performer at a sort of destruction derby circus where robots are destroyed for the amusement of a baying crowd.  She looks startling (and great) in her red hair and Stars and Stripes outfit.  That get up may be why the film is being shown, what with it being Thanksgiving tomorrow.  Happy holiday to our American friends.

Screencaps and a video clip from A.I. can be found in the Gallery.

W.E.I.R.D. World TV Movie Clips

weird_world_223Last week KM UK brought you something special that few of you will have ever seen before.  You might even have thought you never would.

Alongside our review of the 1995 TV movie W.E.I.R.D. World, which stars Kathryn as Lucy, the personal assistant to Ed O’Neill’s (Modern Family) Dr Monochian, we had a set of screencaps.  I hope you enjoyed seeing Kathryn in one of her earliest roles.  If you haven’t read that piece yet, go back and do so immediately.  We’ll wait here for you :-)

As promised at the end of that article we now bring you a small set of video clips from the film.  They are now exclusively available in the KM UK Gallery.  Sadly the picture and sound quality is not great, it’s the best I can do from the source.

KM UK Mention On Weird West Radio

misc_001In my on-going quest to find out more about the film Bone Tomahawk, which should see Kathryn in a small role as the wife of a wild west Sheriff played by Kurt Russell (Stargate), I’ve been seeking out good sources of intel.  As I always do so as to bring you the best and most accurate data.

Looking for information about Bone Tomahawk can bring up a lot of confusing stuff because the film has been in pre-production for over two years, with various casting announcements in the intervening period, and significant changes in the personnel.  The news as KM UK reported at the time, because it included Kathryn, was how things were as the film finally went into production in October.  The addition of Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring), Matthew Fox (Lost), Lili Simmons (Banshee), David Arquette (Scream), and Kathryn, amongst others, made headlines.  Later I created a post rounding up most of what we know.

A couple of weeks ago I found a new podcast by Weird West Radio discussing the recent casting news for Bone Tomahawk.  Clearly they are big fans of the western genre.  Understandably the guys on the podcast, Johnny and Clint, were excited about the news of a new western and mentioned the inclusion of the actors such as Timothy Olyphant (Justified) and Peter Sarsgaard (Jarhead).  Those were earlier casting announcements and they are no longer connected with the film.

Always happy to help out I sent a Tweet to Weird West Radio:

@weirdwestradio Re Bone Tomahawk. IMDb list accurate. Others you mentioned (Olyphant, Sarsgaard, Carpenter) no longer attached to the film. – Link

Today (23 Nov) saw the release of a new WWR podcast and Johnny updated their listeners about Bone Tomahawk and very kindly read out my Tweet.  Sort of :-)

I’ve created this post to clarify a couple of things said in the podcast as Twitter is too restrictive.  The above covers most of it but I should add the following:  I’m a he (understanable confusion from my Twitter details), based in the UK, and an “uber-fan” of the actress Kathryn Morris who has a small role in the film.

Thank you for the mention on WWR.  I hope you get to talk to the producers of the film for a future podcast so we can all find out more about the project.

It’s been a weird week :-)
