Be At The Perfect Guy Première

poster_005The new thriller movie The Perfect Guy is less than a month away now.

US cinema goers can see it from the 11th of September general release date.

However, the official film première is due to take place a few days before that on the 8th of the month.  It will, not surprisingly, be happening in L.A. but at the time of writing the exact location has not been published.

I’m sure that members of the public will be able to catch a glimpse of the movie’s stars on the red carpet but, if you want to be a bit more certain there is something you can do about it.  And be charitable at the same time.

The film’s promoters are taking the opportunity to raise money for three different charities.  In return for their generosity donors can get special gifts.  The Omaze website is hosting the sale of the rewards.  They range from $10 donation to the charities, $100 for a t-shirt, all the way to $5000 for a Skype chat with one of the them.  Only the three main stars (Sanaa Lathan, Michael Ealy and Morris Chestnut) are mentioned.

Each entry is added to a prize draw.  The winner of that will get the VIP treatment including a flight to L.A. and a 4-star hotel stay.  There are no specific details but I’m assuming that will only be available to US residents.

The three charities are the The Lustgarten Foundation (funds research into pancreatic cancer), HerShe USA (supports girls in foster care as they become adults) and the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (supports children’s hospitals across north America).

You can read all the details and make pledges at the Omaze website HERE.

We don’t know if Kathryn will be present at the event.  Fingers crossed for an appearance.

The Coin Takes Silverware From The Tavern

brightside_tavern_film_fest_logo_310x260Congratulations to Fabien Martorell and everyone involved in making his short film The Coin.

After yesterday’s screening at the The Brightside Tavern Film Festival the film was the recipient of the award for Best Concept.

Proof, if further proof were needed, that putting Kathryn in a movie is always a good concept! :-)

The Coin was also nominated in categories covering best short and best directing in a drama, and best cinematography.

That brings the silverware collection up to six for the Kathryn and Christopher Lloyd-starring 9 minute drama about the young son of a stressed mother meeting a homeless man.

Bone Tomahawk Gets A Release Date?

poster_001_1014x1500It’s been a busy week on KM UK with some big news and here’s a bit more.

The long-running horror news website Fangoria is reporting that Bone Tomahawk will be released on the 23rd of October of this year, three weeks after its premiere at the Fantastic Fest event.

Presumably this is a date for a US cinema launch, though it does suggest the rest of the world could see it by the end of the year.

You can read Michael Gingold’s piece on the Fangoria website HERE.

As an aside, Michael is the co-writer of the Alice Sweet Alice remake Kathryn was reported to be starring in.  It’s all gone quiet on that front but it could still happen.

For those wanting more detail on the story of Bone Tomahawk you can read the Fantastic Fest website description HERE.  Be warned, it is quite detailed (though it does not mention Kathryn’s character) so if you don’t want to be spoiled…

Thanks to Fate815 for the heads-up.

Minority Report – Sunday on BBC3

still_001The budget cuts being forced on the BBC have resulted in the BBC3 channel being moved to a purely online service from next year.  So, this maybe the last time I get to say that Minority Report is soon to be screened on the channel.

It doesn’t take a Pre-Cog to predict that this will not too much of a problem for the future.  The film has been broadcast on the BBC1 and BBC2 channels in the past.  This may be trying to tie into the recent release of the latest Mission Impossible movie as it shares the lead actor Tom Cruise.

Sunday (16th August) night at 9pm is the time to be in front of your TV.

In the past month we’ve had A.I. Artificial Intelligence, also on the BBC, and Inferno on the Horror Channel.  It’s a mini Kathryn season on British television! :-)

The BBC website has a page dedicated to the film here.

The new US series based on elements of Minority Report will be starting on the American Fox network in September, probably on 21st September at 9pm.

Update (20th Aug):  Minority Report is being repeated on Saturday (22nd Aug) on BBC3 again at 9pm.

The Coin @ Brightside Tavern On Sunday

brightside_tavern_film_fest_logo_310x260Another quick reminder of a screening of a Kathryn-starring film in the next few days.

It’s a busy weekend upcoming for The Coin.  After the Saturday showing at the HollyShorts event it gets an outing at The Brightside Tavern Film Festival on Sunday (16th August).

Starting at 5:05pm the screening at the Jersey City venue includes seven other short films.  The only thing the selection appear to have in common is that they are all being showing in the group.

A bit of interest is the fact that Fabien Martorell’s movie has been nominated for awards in four categories.  The awards show is due to take place after the final session, which just happens to be the one that involves The Coin.  Fingers crossed.

All the information is available on the BTFF website.
