Hold On To Your Easter Eggs They Might Melt

poster_001Let’s face it: nobody likes melted chocolate Easter eggs.

The natural disaster Inferno is being shown again the the Horror Channel here in the UK on Wednesday (23rd of March).  The station is on channel 70 on the Freeview system and in tripple digits on the Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media platforms.  Check your EPG for details.

You can catch a broadcast at 4pm, a nice early for the students then :-) , or if you miss that there is a repeat the following morning at 10am.

The channel has existed for nearly 12 years now but has only just passed its first anniversary on Freeview.  Coincidently, or maybe not, it started on the Friday the 13th of March 2015.  Dun, dun, dun!

Inferno involves a fireball heading towards the Earth that is causing temperatures to rise and problems for its inhabitants.  Kathryn’s role will also cause temperatures to rise (I’ll leave the ‘balls’ joke to you).  James Remar (Dexter) and Stephanie Niznik (Everwood) are the leads.  Jonathan LaPaglia (ADA Bell in later episodes of Cold Case) is Kathryn’s partner in crime/grime.

As citizen reviewer Jack from Minnesota says on IMDb:

Kathryn Morris steals the show as the sleazy tow truck driver, the only likable character and the only one who rises above being a compilation of clichés. Everyone else is a cardboard cutout in comparison to her character.

What would Lilly Rush make of her?

Inferno Heats Up Your Weekend

poster_001Welcome to 2016.

The Horror Channel here in the UK is getting the new year off to a blazing start with more showings of the disaster movie Inferno.

Kathryn has a key part in the film, and it is very different from the way we are so used to seeing her in roles like Lilly Rush.

I may have missed a screening yesterday but there are two broadcasts coming up in less than 24 hours:  19:00 GMT tonight (2nd Jan) at and tomorrow morning at 8am.

The Horror Channel is available via the free-to-air Freeview system, as well as Virgin Media cable and Sky satellite, in the United Kingdom and Ireland so everyone with a television can see it.  The network also appears to be on Sky in Italy but you’ll have to check local press/EPG for details on what they are showing.

Inferno Heats Up A Sunday Afternoon

poster_001Nearly missed this one.

In what can only be an attempt to make us Brits feel a bit warmer as temperatures begin the steady decline towards winter, the Horror Channel is showing the TV movie Inferno again today.

The Horror channel is available to everyone in the UK via the Freeview TV system so there is no excuse not to take the opportunity to watch one of Kathryn’s earlier roles.

4:50pm this afternoon (Sunday, 18th October) is the start time.  See the Media Alert post HERE from the last time I alerted our British readers of a screening for more details.

There are some Inferno related images in KM UK Gallery.

Horror Hits Hotspot Tuesday

poster_001As Britain suffers through another heatwave (not really, it is warm but this is Britain so we’re just grateful it’s not snowing!) the Horror Channel is going to raise more than temperatures this coming week.

The 1998 TV movie Inferno (not to be confused with lots of other films with similar titles) gets an airing on British TV on Tuesday afternoon (21st July) starting at 3:50pm on the Horror Channel.

I’m guessing the channel has shown the film before, but as I only focus on widely available stations for these Media Alerts I’ve not had reason to mention it before.  The Horror Channel has been broadcasting for over 10 years but until earlier this year it has only been on the satellite and cable systems.  Now it is on  over-the-air Freeview, the minimum that anyone in the UK needs to watch TV.

Inferno is a drama about a variety of people dealing with the possible end of days scenario caused by a massive fireball ejected from the Sun.  As it approaches Earth the temperature rises to dangerous levels.

James Remar (Dexter) and Stephanie Niznik (Everwood) are the main leads but I think there is more like a collection of story lines involving different characters.

Kathryn plays the role of Ryan Tibbet who appears to be a mechanic (all short hair and smudges of oil) and she is involved with Jonathan LaPaglia’s Eddie.  Jonathan went on to guest star in the last couple of seasons of Cold Case as an Assistant District Attorney so they worked together again.  From clips I’ve seen Kathryn tries to take advantage of the heat to err… take advantage of Eddie.  It should be worth watching the film just for that scene 😉  I’ve never actually been able to watch the film in full so I’m not sure of the plot details.  I guess many of us will know more soon  :-)

As well as the airing on Tuesday there is a repeat on Wednesday morning (11:10am) and Saturday (25th) at 4:50pm.  On some systems you may also have access to a +1 channel.  No excuses then :-)

The always helpful KM UK Gallery already contains a small number of poor screencaps from Inferno.  They are some of only a handful on the whole site that aren’t my own work.  I’ve now added a couple of promo photos and some artwork.

I’ll no doubt be returning to Inferno in the future.

Gallery Opening

What could be better than looking at photos of the beautiful Kathryn Morris?  The answer is “almost nothing” of course, which is why I’ve put together a Gallery of Kathryn-related pictures I have collected over the years.  Screencaps, event photos, promo shots and photoshoots.  You can find a permanent link to it in the right-hand sidebar.  The collection is far from complete and I hope to add new material as I find it.

A big thanks to everyone that has provided images, all credit goes to them.

You will need to register to access the gallery.  Apologies that the process isn’t quite as user friendly as it could be. I’m still learning about all this.

To register follow the link to the Gallery, click the Register link, fill in your details and click submit. An email will be sent to the address you gave (so make sure it is valid!) containing a web link. Clicking the link in the email will bring you back to the Gallery page. This will validate your login (without any visual confirmation, unfortunately). You can then proceed to login in with the details you submitted.
