You’ll have to forgive me up front because I’m bound to make a hash of this one. No doubt I’ll amuse and offend a whole country in one post with my attempts to understand a language I very clearly don’t.
It’s been a while since we’ve hit the festival circuit here on KM UK and it is already late January 2016. We have a bit of catching up to do.
On Wednesday (27th Jan 2017) the Festival International du Film Fantastique de Gérardmer starts. I think we can work out most of that without reaching for the French-English dictionary but suffice to say it is a sci-fi and horror film festival held in France.
Gérardmer is a community in the far East of France, around 35 miles (that’s approx. 60km for locals) from the borders with both Germany and Switzerland. Up in the mountains it is on the shores of Lac de Gérardmer and looks like a very beautiful part of the world (hopefully that buys me a bit of goodwill 
).
Bone Tomahawk is one of four films premièring at the event and gets an initial 11am showing on Thursday (28th) at the L’espace LAC cinema, which is the main venue for the whole event. Later, at 7:30pm, it will be at the Cinéma du casino. Friday and Saturday see screenings at the other two screening rooms for the festival La MCL and Le cinéma Paradiso respectively.
