This was not a subject I wanted to post about. I do my best to be as generous and tolerant towards others as I can. But there are limits to even my patience.
A person who some of you may know, who claims to be a fan of Kathryn (and can’t seem to write the word “fan” without putting the word “fierce” in front of it) runs a Facebook Page dedicated to her. You may have seen it, ‘Liked’ it, or even left a comment. She’s called Lisa. I’m not going to give a link to the page, frankly she doesn’t deserve it.
It has been obvious to me for a while that Lisa has been posting pictures taken from this site on her Facebook page. The images are often the ones I use as banners for the individual posts. The size, shape and cropping which makes them unique to this site gives the game away completely.
Back in June I challenged Lisa over this via Twitter. She did not respond to me directly but left the following message on Facebook a short while later:
To all of you, good Kathryn’s fans!!! I want to be clear: this fb fan page don’t steal info, photos, pictures, links, sites from other fan pages; this fb fan page don’t plagiarize from others; its directors are honest and sincere doing their great job in a really right way to update this fb fan page as the best they can every day always searching, finding and being informed; this fb fan page and its directors will never plagiarize!!! By The Directors
It’s a lie.
Let me make it clear that I am not claiming ownership of the images. What I am stating is that it is the policy of this site to not take images from other fan sites and post them here. If all the fan sites just copied images from each other then they’d all be the same. According to Lisa’s comment she feels the same way. The evidence shows otherwise.
Lisa can’t make those bold claims stand-up when you see this image, which I created especially for this post, included on her Facebook page.
That is just one of a great many examples. Lisa has also posted fan art created by some you just for this site, without giving you any credit.
In the past week I have tried contacting Lisa again via Twitter. She’s ignored me. Yesterday I left comments on a lot of the images she has taken from this site saying where they came from. Those comments have been removed and I am unable to leave further comments. Make of that what you will.
Lisa might be “fierce”, but “honest” she is not.

Now she’s accusing me of stalking her! And she’s trying to post this “defence” all over Facebook. She clearly has not actually read or understood what I posted.
What has anyone’s age (she’s wrong by the way) got to do with it? Her age excuses her? I have not threatened her on Twitter. Please feel free to read the KM UK Twitter feed to see what was posted. Other than getting them “from Google” she has never told me where she gets her pictures from. As I stated above, the pictures posted are not necessarily from the KM UK Gallery but those posted as banners to the posts. Lisa has been told where they came from but fails to acknowledge that.
I’ll say again: this is not about ownership. I’m not claiming they are my pictures.
All I am doing is asking her to stand by her word, that is all.
I’ve tried to contact her privately but got no direct response. So I posted the article above.

GOOD FANS: I’m gonna search, find, load, share, post, add, make other pics: nothing and nobody can stop me!! so then all of you could see other news photos in this page!! #Determination (LF)

I had a much longer, more point-by-point, response to the earlier lengthy post by Lisa but I’ll keep this short.
Lisa. Please read what I’ve written and try to understand. I am not trying to stop you posting pictures. Maybe the capslock key will help: I AM NOT TRYING TO STOP YOU POSTING PICTURES!
Lisa. Today alone you’ve posted the exact images in their cropped and scaled form from this post and this post. Again: this is NOT about the photo, it’s content or ownership. It is about your claim to not take images from other fan sites. You clearly have. You can write “from Italian site” under all the photos you want it doesn’t change the facts.
If you still don’t understand please contact me privately so I can try and make myself clearer to you directly rather than me having to resort to this public forum. You can use the Contact form as you don’t respond to all the other methods I’ve used.
Update 3 (7 September 2013): I’ve noticed that a) Lisa continues to post pics from here on the KM fan FB page and b) she’s also done so on another FB page she runs, this one about Kathryn & Danny. I tried leaving comments against some of the obvious images but my postings were removed without response. Hardly the action of a “good Kathryn fan”.
Does anyone know the “Italian site” Lisa claims to be getting the KM UK images from?

You’re right Karen, the “good fans” phrase Lisa keeps using is a little annoying. It implies that only the fans that “Like” her page are good and all others are bad.
To come back at you, RichE, in a fandom no one is better than another. Who cares if a fan is 19 or 50, they all are fans.
Stop worrying about her, she’s not worth it.

I’m on your side, RichE. You became victim of a poor soul that tries be relevant, yet cannot deliver something new herself and resorts to stealing.
Perhaps a “watermark” on the pics would help to expose her even more obviously.

As I said above I really don’t like watermarking by other sites, especially when they really can’t put any claim on ownership, so I feel it would be wrong of me to do so.
