The listing on IMDb for Kathryn’s soon to be released (if the 20th December date is to be believed still) movie Mother’s Little Helpers suggests that it has changed it’s name to Cougars, Inc.
I’m not sure it is an improvement but it might be an easier sell in international markets, as well as separating the movie from the early version that leaked online.
So far I’ve not found any further evidence of this change so we’ll treat it appropriately for now.
I’ll keep a outlook, but the suggestion for the new name sounds more along the lines of a business rather than a movie. I think if this name was changed, they should have left it with it’s originally “Mother’s little Helpers,” that sounds more like a movie.
If you look under the upcoming movies section on IMDB, they don’t even list it. I know that random people do edit this page, could this just simply be a mistake or an error?
Monster, Inc. was a movie.
Random people can’t edit IMDb pages. People can submit changes but they need to be accepted. I would imagine a name change would need to come from someone connected with the film or require some significant evidence. I’ve yet to find the option to submit such a change in fact.
I like to know why the movie sites haven’t listed this movies as an upcoming one. Not even Yahoo movies, which lists even the limited ones. It doesn’t make any sense to me.
RichE, you wrote – “Random people can’t edit IMDb pages. People can submit changes but they need to be accepted. I would imagine a name change would need to come from someone connected with the film or require some significant evidence. I’ve yet to find the option to submit such a change in fact.”
Unless they changed their policy since 2006, they’re not exactly all that critical over changes. I know this, because when a certain movie was almost released the cast list was completely false. One of the actors was listed as playing two roles that had nothing to do with each other.
So, maybe they’ve changed, but I bet that someone could go in there, change the name of the movie (MLH) to “The Graduate 2.0” or “Young Dude Gets it on With Way Older Woman”
I found the section on IMDb to allow the submitting of a correction to the title in the end. It makes it clear that it is not to be undertaken lightly and they do want an explanation as to why the change should be made. So, in the case of the title at least they seem to take more considered approach.
The fact is that the changes are moderated so people can’t make random edits. How much effort actually goes in to that moderation I don’t know. In my experience all the updates I’ve submitted have been accepted, though it took nearly a week for each one to appear on the site.
Then they must have gotten stricter which is a good thing.
I think “Cougars, Inc.” is a more humorous name. 😉 Hahaha! 😀
