Happy Xmas!

Has it really been a year already?

It’s difficult to believe that it is almost 12 months since that early new year news of broke of Kathryn getting a part in a new movie: Mother’s Little Helpers.  And that wasn’t even the first post on KM UK in January, it was the 9th!

2010 looked to be an uncertain year for fans of Kathryn.  Cold Case was heading for the big network tape vault marked ‘Cancelled’.  Kathryn was working more on projects from behind the camera.  Would we get to see much of our favourite lady in 2010?

“Why did you choose the image above to mark the whole year?” you may ask.  Kathryn’s appearance, and her appearance 😉 , at The Environmental Media Association Awards in October embodied (mmm… body) so much good stuff.  OK, ‘contained’ would have better word there but I couldn’t resist   Not only did we get a huge number of stunning photos of Kathryn looking… err… stunning (and quite different, for reasons I’d like to put my finger on 😉 Thanks Carlene), but after months of hearing so little we saw evidence of MLH still being alive.  Though Asher Levin’s turn on the red carpet alongside KM may have been down to his mother being a significant player in the EMA organisation.  And if all that wasn’t enough we got Kathryn spilling the beans on the release date for Moneyball in one of several interview videos that just seemed to keep on coming well into November.

Yes, Cold Case came to an end after the lack of the announcement of an eighth season.  The actual ending: Lilly, Scotty, Christina and baby driving off into the distance, heading home, divided fans but no-one can complain about a show that got 7 seasons.  Few manage that.  156 episodes of Lilly-scented goodness.

We got the pleasure of a steady flow of public appearances, chat show appearances (some quite revealing) and magazine articles (some quite silly).  Certainly plenty to talk about.  One of the biggest pieces of news has to be Kathryn getting an important role in a movie starring Brad Pitt, as his wife no less!

The year nearly ended on a damp squib as the movie MLH, now renamed to Cougars, Inc., failed to show any signs of actually being released on the much reported 20th of December date (it’s now been pushed to next summer).  However, thanks to the surprise appearance of Kathryn in Mark Anderson’s M: Mermaids Of Hollywood photoshoot book we got a new, if slightly odd, set of images instead.

So, those early fears proved to be largely unfounded.  2010 has been an amazing year for fans of Kathryn, and not too bad for the lady herself.  What does 2011 hold for Kathryn and us?  We know there are two movies due out (Cougar’s, Inc. and Moneyball) and possibly a TV show Kathryn is producing, but not starring in.  Basing a prediction on just that alone would make it quite a quiet year for us.  But 2010 proved us wrong so roll on 2011.  I hope you’ll join me here at KM UK to enjoy the ride.
