*** Spoiler Alert ***

The spoiler doing the rounds that Lilly considers a career move to the FBI in upcoming Cold Case episodes got me thinking.  Let’s go with this idea and create a new show based around Special Agent Lillian Rush?  She could be a profiler tracking down serial killers.  They could call it… Mindhunters.  What?  Oh yes, so she did   How about one of my earlier ideas for a name for Cold Case then: Rush Hour 

If CBS choose not to renew Cold Case it would give them a new show, one with some scope to try new things, whilst also having some pre-made back-stories and an almost guaranteed audience for it.  Of course many would be upset by the loss of the rest of the squad but they could turn up occasionally as guest stars, much as they have during season 7 😮  Scotty could be the ex-colleague keen to relive the glory days of his career with Rush, and she has to bail him out of trouble when ever he gets a little too “hands-on” with a suspect.  Or, he’s been sacked from the force and has taken up bare-knuckle boxing to make ends meet.  Stillman could continue his wise old sage routine.

Perhaps CBS don’t want it.  OK, Fox how about you take it on.  Combine the idea of Lilly going Federal with getting rid of Booth on Bones (not that I’m suggesting they should).  Put Rush and Brennan together on a new show.  Now that’s a combination I’d like to see! 😉

But what could we call this hybrid?  Bones Case?  Cold Bones?  Or, with reference to Kathryn’s beautiful porcelain epidermis: Skin & Bones.  Of course those of a more negative disposition will twist that into something about misconceptions of Kathryn’s health.

Now all we need is a production company run by someone with a vested interest in the show’s success, experience of the genre on both sides of the camera and their head screwed on right.  Yep, Kathryn’s Hot Plate Productions is perfect for it.
