Cold Case S07E07 – Read Between The Lines Screencaps

Cold_Case_S07E07_lilly_192197 HD (720p) screencaps of Lilly in Read Between The Lines are now in the Gallery.

We get Kat back at last, but Will is MIA without a mention.  Turns out Lilly has a thing for diamonds, she didn’t seem the type.  I may just be getting used to it but Lilly is looking more Kathryn-like recently, less over-made-up.  A definite improvement.

For discussion on the episode head over to the appropriate thread on Look Again.  And check out TVFan’s review on Pass The Remote.

Is it just me or does Lilly have new apartment. I don’t recall even seeing a fireplace in the other time we’ve seen her apartment.

    anyways, great caps as always..

    • I don’t think we’ve ever really seen that side of the main room in Lilly’s house.

I found this image from Stalker which is about a good as shot as I’ve got. The furniture in the new shot is in keeping with it but there is that wooden panelling on the wall in the old image.

I think they’ve had to alter Lilly’s house to fit the plot requirement.

All the footage of Lilly and Eddie have been at the apartment Eddie’s been using whilst undercover.

  • IcyWinter

I think Eddie’s done being undercover, it had said somewhere that the first scene with them was in his apartment.

    • I don’t think he did. Lilly complained about the lack of food and Eddie said he was “in deep” and he didn’t “normally entertain.”

Remember that Lilly didn’t know where the photo-messages too her phone were coming from? She had to get the address traced and then broke in. She didn’t know it was Eddie. I think we can safely assume that she knows Eddie’s apartment, and this is not it. We’ve only seen Eddie and Lilly together this season in one place, that apartment.

The way Eddie was talking on the phone in the 2nd scene in this one suggests to me he is still undercover. Remember his previous line about having “something to come back to” (Lilly) once he was done?

Im sick of Eddie. If they end the show like that, well I think I’ll be very, very dissapointed. I can’t see how anyone can like him? I’m thinking of not watching any of these epsidoes when they air here.

@Lillyscotty- I do like eddie, but I don’t think that Lilly is happy with or without having someone to love. She’s losing it big time..

and Relax Eddie isn’t in every single episode..

  • Lilly_Scotty

I think it’s obvious what you perfer. It’s also obvious what I perfer. I don’t think they match at all. He is leading her down the wrong paths and I’m sure I can get half of Cold Case fans to agree with me. Please, don’t tell me to relax. This has nothing to do with me being a L/S shipper. I just don’t think he is good for her at all.

    • IcyWinter

I do respect your opinion but this whole love thing is just a side story plus the fact that this isn’t the type of show that they won’t be any long term love.

This episode was probably the best so far in Season 7..

I’m having some problems RichE. I can’t get into the Gallery. It’s all locked. I log in abnd it says it’s password protected. How do I get in?

    • This is not the appropriate forum to raise such issues.

However, I’ve occasionally had problems with the Gallery. Normally I close the browser. Re-start it. Clean out the Cookies (or just the appropriate one if possible). Go back to the Gallery.

I thought this by far was the best episode this season. Also, this coming week here in the US, CBS is switching Cold Case to 9:00PM as an “experiment”, I’m assuming to see if they can get more viewers. I for one am glad that I don’t have to stay up so late on Sunday to watch.

    • The moving of Cold Case back to 9pm is a good sign for the show. I think the latest figures showed a slight increase in the ratings for CC. It looks like one of the higher rated shows of the evening.

I believe that CBS hoped that moving to 10pm CC would not hurt the audience figures too much, though there was bound to be a decline at the later hour. Their thinking was to boost the ratings for a new show by using the earlier slot for that.

Do we have audience figures for the 10-11pm slot from last year? Is CC doing better than whatever show was there? If so then CBS have gained audience share in that time slot. A win for them.

I’ve never subscribed to the idea that CBS moved CC to “kill it”. As an argument it makes no sense. CBS is a business, there to make money. They make money by selling advertising space during and between TV shows. They have to spend a large amount of money to get the TV shows made. By and large if the advertising revenue generated by a particular show does not cover the costs of the show they won’t broadcast it. There will be exceptions, of course, shows that cost a lot but bring in large audiences, the hope being to keep that audience during subsequent shows and to the network as a whole.

Why spend the money on the show if you want it to die? Just don’t renew it and spend the money on something that you believe will give a better return. They may have kept CC on for a further season as a reliable source of audience and revenue whilst they transition to new shows because the previous line-up was getting old and losing ratings. If the new shows fail to give a good return they’ll try something else.

Moving a reduced cost CC to 10pm was a calculated decision. One that hasn’t paid off that well, hence the “experiment” to move it back to 9pm.

  • I think people (I’m not necessarily referring to the discussions above) are forgetting the sequence of events and what happened with regard to Lilly, Moe, Eddie and the gun.

Lilly was angry that Moe was allowed out on bail. She should know that that happens in most cases where the person is not considered a danger to the public in general. Moe, alledgedly, targetted a specific individual for a specific reason (protecting his military academy). He is not a danger to others. In the heat of the moment Lilly threatened to make sure justice was done. The glare and grin he gave her as he was taken away was a reason for concern though.

We then see Lilly watching Moe (the headlight incident). We don’t know if this is a regular thing or just a one off.

Then Lilly starts receiving stalker-esque photomessages to her phone. Does Moe know her phone number? She could have given it to him when she was investigating the death at the academy. Understandably that worried her, and encouraged her to push back at her suspected threat. It turned out to be Eddie sending the messages. At this point Lilly should have re-thought her approach. You would have hoped that once Lilly and Eddie had “caught-up” 😉 the pillow-talk might have turned to the messages and the worry they caused. Once that was cleared up Lilly would have no reason to further harrass Moe. Certainly not to the extent she is.

Lilly is causing her own problems now.

The gun was not a genuine anniversary present, the comment was a joke by Eddie. It doesn’t make him a bad guy, neither does his wish for Lilly to be safe. Lilly responded in kind, but followed it up with a comment that gave away an aspect of herself we haven’t seen before. She clearly likes the idea of receiving diamonds from Eddie, and doesn’t like wearing the fakes she either bought for herself or someone else gave her. Perhaps they were her mother’s.

What does make Eddie a bad guy is the way he didn’t nip this thing in the bud earlier. And now he’s given Lilly a gun, but that’s the kind of guy he is working in the world that he does. He’s reacting to Lilly’s explanations of what’s happening, and she’s misguided. Misguided by herself.

On her current path Lilly is set for a lot of problems.
